Last week PERKS OF HEAVEN had his first 1D run! We finished 1D 5th in the Open and was 1D 1st in the DOUBLE DOWN SIDE POT.

It's been a real long journey with the BLACK DRAGON as she is called. Almost 2 years ago she was dropped off for training. It's been a long road but yesterday Piper picked up her 1ST 1D check by winning the 1D MEGA SIDE POT. She was 5th in the Open also!

I am beyond proud of Piper, as Rex said the other day she is getting to be a MATURE DRAGON

So many times i have wanted to quit, send her home. Say im done, i can't. Piper has taught me patience & kept me wanting more, an to keep going.

Thankful to her owners who are the best ever 🖤🤍

BFF FAMOUSRAREMONEY 1D 5TH Runnin For the Ca$h 10/26/24 Open 1D 5thMega Pot 1D 1st

We started the weekend Friday night in Palmetto with a PRCA Rodeo. Saturday morning we headed to Branford for the Runnin' For the Ca$h Barrel Race then after it finished we went to Newberry Lions Club Rodeo

The horses all worked phenomenal. I could not be more proud of them.
✨️PERKS OF HEAVEN had a nice run in Palmetto. He's trying hard to figure out the Rodeo Ground and handling the scenes great.
✨️Piper had a nice pass to end up 5th in the Open & 1st in the Mega Side Pot.
✨️Credit had a smooth run and clocked in the 1D. Trying to get some air built up
✨️Heaven made a nice pass at Newberry with a PACKED crowd 👌 😍 He was .13 of a second out of a paycheck

Horses all hauled good an ate well. It was a long day!

Bits, tie downs, bonnets, martingales, draw reins, and spurs are all tools.

Some of these tools help us work through resistance or make our job easier.

Just because we use a tool does not mean that we are cheating or our horse isn’t broke enough.

These tools can be used regularly or just when needed.

There is nothing wrong with using a tool that helps both the horse and the rider get a desired result with less pressure.

The barrel race is different than other disciplines.

We ask our horses to run full speed and come back to us 4 times in less than 20 seconds.

Some horses need more help to accomplish this than others.

Don’t be afraid to use resources to make your job and the horse's job easier.
