Living in Ocala means getting our equine friends ready for the storms. Here’s a glimpse into our prep routine:

- Braiding ribbons with phone numbers into their tails
- Putting on breakaway halters for safety if trees fall and fences break
- Ensuring they’re all microchipped and can be reconnected quickly

There’s debate on whether it’s safer to keep horses in the barn or let them fend for themselves, hoping debris doesn’t harm them. All our horses have weathered at least one hurricane, some more than a few.

- 1 Quarter Horse (Flash)
