No 1 Rides 4 Free was one of our more popular songs that came out during the Duo Era of Do it for Danny. It's extremely raunchy. Here's the thing. We experimented with writing and performing certain songs "in character" as a duo. There's a bunch that we wrote as two guys trying to make it in the advertising world; The Target Song, Weiners, Cinnabon, etc. There's one called Bus from the perspective of a racist who hates the world as he rides the bus to and from work. This one got retired pretty quickly. But most notably there's No 1 Rides 4 Free, a dirty song about two scumbags who live the mantra "Gas, Grass or Ass." The only thing is, and I'm only realizing this recently, we always just assumed that the audience was in on the joke so we never ever made a point of announcing that we were "in character." . Anyone who knows us knows that we aren't at all these guys in real life. Unfortunately, we never took the time to realize that most audiences didn't know us AT ALL. This is No 1 Rides 4 Free live in New York City at the infamous venue Arlene's Grocery. Only one person in the crowd this night knew us. I now understand why not every woman in the room was eager to make friends.

I've always loved this song. I'm just remembering now that at the very end of the Do it for Danny run, when we were a duo who no longer got along, we played this song a handful Of times. Literally thousands of hours of footage were filmed and I have access to none of it. So frustrating. Can't wait to start playing solo shows again. A Delfonics Cover... Didn't I Blow Your Mind This Time? I love the Delfonics. Some of my all-time favorite songs come from this era known as the Philly sound. Songs by both the Delfonics and the Stylistics are staples on my legendary (in my own head) baby making mix tapes. If you're my age, you may have been introduced to this particular song when the New Kids on the Block covered it in the late 80s. It made another splash in the late 90s when Quentin Tarantino used it in the movie Jackie Brown. Tarantino knows good music!

if I'm being honest, I never gave much thought to Styx. when id hear this song on the radio throughout life, i just considered it filler. I was never a fan of the vocals, which reminded me of Rush, another band I never really had a long weekend with.To me, this was music that Dungeons and Dragons Geeks listened to. Fast forward to today. From the the first five chords into those opening vocals, I was like Effing A, I love this song. I always just thought it was a yacht rock song literally about sailing. I was today years old when I found out this song dives into childhood memories and regret into figuring out what's next in life. That's pretty much the most ME song I've heard since maybe You S*xy Thing by Hot Chocolate. Seriously though, I never realized they met up with aliens and fly off into space. How rad! The average YouTube viewer spends just over 3 minutes per video that I've posted watching.. That sounds sh*tty but it's actually a lot higher than the national average. I'm going through my music books and playing every song one by one to decipher which songs are my starters in regards to gigging. My biggest regret musically this past summer was playing songs live that weren't ready to go. What a terrible feeling when you're mid-song and you know it just isn't right. I'm not going to let that happenl again. These two songs are right next to each other alphabetically in my first music book. That's pretty much the extent of what they have in common. The first became a hit in the mid-80s after being used in the prom episode of Family Ties. Alex P. Keaten's girlfriend in this episode (and season) would go on to become his wife in real life. Was it the song? They're still married to this day. Even when things got a little shaky, some people apparently meant it when they said "For Better or Worse." At This Moment by Billy Vera and the Beaters. The second song is a raunchy frat boy anthem that was released in 1991. It's fun but extremely foul. Sorry In advance, to my mom, pastor and older family members and anyone else who stumbled upon this video and had no idea what was about to follow At This Moment. I wanted to post a Philly song with the Phillies moving on to the NLCS with their beat down of the Braves this afternoon. How's much fun is this team, by the way?!?!? I was going through my music books trying to figure out which songs I want to concentrare on and polish for when I inevitably start playing shows again. I love Phish but I honestly don't remember ever playing ACDC Bag and yet there it was in my first book feeling all neglected. I think once I get reacquainted with the words and get a few more of these jams under my belt, it'll be a pretty strong go-to song. For an honest first take, I don't hate it at all. Engelbert Humperdinck's After The Lovin felt like a good follow up in the moment. Not regretting it. I've been in love with this song since going to my first wedding as a kid.

Last night I posted the final 6 songs that were recorded during the second set of my 6/17/22 show on the front sidewalk at Ron Jon Surf Shop in Ocean City NJ right before the Camera shut off at the 46 minute mark.
