This year we are celebrating our 20th Anniversary at Lizzie's Cafe & Bistro 142nd St. Today, on our one day a week off (Tuesday) I am reflecting on our 20 year journey. This post popped up and I wanted to share it again. It was taken at the end of 2020. A pivotal year for Lizzie's, which affected the way we've run our boutique restaurant ever since. Each year our goal is to enhance the experience for our guest while not sacrificing food quality, service and remain viable. In 20 years, Lizzie's had been described as "cozy and cute" to present day "cool vibes"...whatever the atmosphere, service style or food prep, the dedication to service and food quality has remained the same. Fresh food prepared by Neil (even today on his day off, he's skipping to work to make more Chocolate Chip Cookies, homemade cornbread, Italian Meatballs and Sloppy Joe). This year many guest have told us how they miss our breakfast (me included) and our dinners of Faroe Island Salmon, Turkey Platters and so much more) but we've kept our most popular items and tried to slim down the menu adjusting to the cost of wages, food etc. For those who miss our breakfast or finer style dinners, I hope you stop in soon again for lunch or dinner. Many of the same items remain like our beloved Lobster Rolls, Crab Rolls, & CrabCakes. For the meatloaf lovers, the same meatloaf is now a hot sandwich 🙂 or Neils famous Meatballs w/Marinara or Meatball Sub. Our hours are shortened 11-3pm and 4:30-8 pm. It's a more casual vibe with hybrid ordering style but you can still eat inside or outside, Pick-up for Carry-Out or DOORDASH.....As for me, I'm stepping away to work on other projects and I've handed the baton to Matt as the GM. I am confident his sincere desire to make Lizzie's the best he can for each guest will shine through for years to come. Thank you all for the past 20 years. Sincerely, Cathie (aka Lizzie)🥰.
