In the mood for a cozy campfire? You don’t need a permit for a “s’mores-sized” fire.
Just keep in mind the following rules:
Use only dry, seasoned firewood
Don’t make the fire larger than 3 feet across
Never leave a fire unattended
Extinguish with water when done
Do NOT bury fires on the beach - this can cause serious injury to others!

Sweet tooth deer takes a stroll in Ocean Shores candy store The owner of Buddy and Howies Candy Store in Ocean Shores had a unique visitor this weekend.

We’re just a week away from the most explosive event of the year! Here’s a quick summary of our fireworks rules.

WHERE
No fireworks in town. That includes decks or balconies of hotels or residential properties.

Only allowed on the beach between the Damon Road (Best Western) approach and the Marine View Drive approach.

Must be at least 100 feet from the dunes, aimed away from the dunes.

WHAT
No bottle rocket, firecrackers, missiles, sky rockets. WSP has more information at their site.

WHEN
July 2 and July 3
Noon - 11:00 p.m.

July 4
Noon - 11:59 p.m.

Our beaches are considered state highways, so all the rules of those roads apply, with a few extra precautions for good measure!

There's a lot of people, dogs and chaos on our beaches during busy times, like the Fourth of July. Drive VERY cautiously and alertly - things happen fast!

Know your driver's and car's capabilities.

Speed limit is 25 MPH (less in crowded areas, of course!)

Beach driving is allowed: North of Chance a la Mer approach, south of Pacific Blvd approach to Marine View Dr. (Pro tip: We recommend not driving south of the Ta**us approach - the sand is very soft!

"Donuts" or other adventurous driving is strictly forbidden.

As always keep your eye on the tide and beware of sneaker waves that can bury your wheels!

Look out for the Jeep parade Saturday May 20! They come every year and do a big beach clean up! If you see them, give a big wave and thank you!!

Jeep Parade Saturday. Leaving at 1100 AM! Please take notice that we will start at Oyhut then past Damon Point and past the community club. Then we will be going right down Duck Lake Dr to Albatross, then right on chance to the beach. There are stands in the median, across the street if the public wants to view the jeep parade. Disclaimer: City chose the route so we didn't bottleneck the roundabout. The parade will be in 5 waves. Each wave/group of Jeeps will be 2 min apart. DUCKLAKE DR Residents.... grab a seat at 1115 in your yard/driveway and cheer this great group on!
