Talk to your children about how they are feeling and educate them about this number for his or her self or for friends. Mental health services can take some time to find or receive. There is always someone who cares who will answer this number. It can be difficult to determine where people are in their depression or problems.

There is a Divorce Recovery and Grief Recovery group in Ocean Springs at Mosaic Church on Monday nights at 6:30 pm. These types of groups are really good to help heal from such a great loss.

Happy Sunday. I wanted to make a quick post regarding relationships and My 3 myths regarding relationships. I am basing this post on several contacts I have recently had with friends and clients who presented these Myths.

1. Love must take a long time to develop.

WRONG. Love is a feeling. It’s impulsive and quick. So this means that it must be intentional to keep it alive. I refer to Love as being a baby. You (both) must feed it, embrace it, and nurture it to stay alive.

****There is definitely a difference between Love and Lust so make sure we are referring to Love.

2. Feelings of uncomfortableness in a new relationship indicates it is not the right person.

WRONG. Many people feel uncomfortableness in new relationships because they start to think about all the imperfections in the other person or in his or her self and the problems that can happen. This is Anxiety and Fears. Please refer back to Myth #1. Love is a feeling. A person should make a cognitive decision to be in the relationship; however, after that decision is made it should be about Love and feelings. There will be times when real problems happen. At that time, go into cognitive mode to solve the problem. Then back to Love! Shut down the Anxiety and Fears unless there are true issues to address (addictions, Abuse, narcissistic, aggressiveness, and ect).

3. Marriage counseling can not help… We are too far along.

WRONG. WRONG. The only time effective Marriage Counseling can not work is when one or both people have given up. Giving up is a choice. Please don’t make it about No Love or Losing Love. Please, refer to Myth #1. Love is a feeling and must be intentionally nurtured, fed, and embraced to be alive.

Please, seek out an effective Provider to help you learn more about healthy relationships. Very few times is it truly too late! ❤️❤️❤️

I found out about this horrific tragedy at my daughter’s graduation ceremony last night. Prayers for all the victims, all the children that survived and all the families because they will forever be impacted. Mental Illness needs to become a regular topic and conversation these days. We must put the stigma behind us and look at the reality that mental Illness to include Depression, Anxiety, Substance Abuse, Aggression, Stress, Domestic Assaults, Violence, Child Abuse, and all the other unhealthy issues are on the rise and in a crisis state. Please, talk to your children, young adults, friends, family, neighbors, and others about these issues. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
