Is decluttering hard for you? Get clear on why it’s hard. Guilt, sentimental, financial investment, you know it goes to something/might need it later are all things people say. Give yourself permission to let go. It will be ok. Create a bin for those memories and sentimental items. Remember, once you’ve spent the money, it’s already gone and isn’t fully returning. Sell it or donate it. If you can replace the item for less than $20, go ahead and part with those might need later items. Letting go is ok, momma. 🩶

Maintenance is the key to keeping up with any change you make in life.
Organizing also requires you to revisit the newly decluttered and organized space every so often. Areas that are utilized the most need the most attention. For example, the pantry gets restocked consistently and requires stuff to be put away where it goes or it will quickly get out of hand and be back to chaos. A laundry room may not get stocked as often and can go a longer time without being maintained, but still requires a revisit.
Once you’re living an organized life, it truly saves so much time and energy.
Two tips to help you get started:
1. Pick a room/space and set a timer for 15 minutes, grab a trash bag and/or donate bag, turn some music on and do what you can until the timer goes off.
2. Give us a call. We’ll be your accountability partner that will help you reach your goal.

Planning ahead can take some of the stress away upon returning from vacation.
Laundry is the top home task I hear from clients that they want or need help with. Hiring a laundry service to haul away and bring back your clean, folded laundry has been much appreciated by many of my clients.

We all enjoyed our mini vacation near the Houston area.

Packing before a trip is definitely NOT my favorite task. Doing these few things help save me time and ease my nerves of feeling overwhelmed, rushed and under prepared.

Here’s how it helps me:
📋 I make a list for myself and my daughter. She packs her own stuff and I do a quick check afterwards to make sure she didn’t forget her items.
👝 Having a toiletry bag ready to go means I don’t have to spend time getting that bag ready.
🩱🤿 Pre-packing ahead of time helps my sanity and cuts down on last minute packing.
🧹🧺 Returning to a clean home is so refreshing after a trip. It allows me to focus on unpacking and getting laundry from the trip done.

Closets, closets, closets!!! Two hall closets and one shared kids closet.
Lots of decluttering, followed by organizing and labeling, which gave our client order and a space dedicated for
• crafts/office supplies
• coats, kids dress up costumes, and purses
• kids toys, books and clothing/shoes

Mom did her thang and decluttered like a pro! She is also handling the kids clothing portion and I know she’ll do great with that.

Celebrating my 5th year in business!!
Reminiscing how before I launched I wondered if this was an actual profession, and upon researching, I learned it was! I’m not a jumper, so it took me a few months to officially launch, but I’ve learned along the way that sometimes it’s okay to jump and go all in. Even when unsure, things typically work out.
This journey has been a blessing throughout the hard days & slow months and the long days & busy months. No regrets and many lessons learned.
Adding a team has been one of the best decisions and I could not do this job as effectively and efficiently without them. The people we’ve met, the stories we’ve heard, the lives we’ve changed, the community we’ve helped - all makes it worthwhile.

Whew! May has been busy! Closing out the month with a guest room and closet and office room and closet for a busy, professional family. Tons of donations were dropped off every single day, my vehicle was packed full!! Shopping and labeling followed, to finish out the rooms. They have a functioning guest room again and the office closet now homes a linen closet with wider shelving installed.

Who’s ready to commit?

We have a 5th grade graduate! It’s been a blessing to watch Isa go through elementary. Volunteering and PTA was a part of my journey and it allowed me to experience some things right along with her. I’m thankful for the memories we made together and the friends we both made during our time there. 💛 🖤

So much went into getting this space ready. First, allow me to brag on our client, she worked alongside us and made quick decisions about clothing, toys, home decor, and more. Several bags of donations were dropped off and several bags were trashed. She is the true definition of “ready” and “committed “. 👏🏼

The SDO team worked hard to bring our client’s vision to life. Cabinets were removed, shelves were put together, tracks were installed, and clothes were neatly folded into bins by size and labeled. 🤩

There was a learning curve and maybe some pushing outside of our comfort zone involved, but we were up for the challenge!
