Allee Tatum, PT, DPT
Physical therapist in the OKC metro offering in-home pediatric and peripartum physical therapy
What an amazing opportunity to get to learn from these two š¤© I canāt wait to implement what Iāve learned these past couple of days to better serve my kiddos and families. Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) is changing lives, and Iām so grateful to be a part of it!
Did you know?
Iām finding that many people are unaware that they can take initiative in their (or their childās) care by going directly to a PT!
A referral isnāt required until 30 days from the start of treatment.
So donāt wait! Be empowered. Letās get to it.
A little snow day fun!!!

Spoiler alert, itās the floor š
There are a MILLION ābaby containersā out there- standers, bouncers, sit me ups, swings, loungers, jumpers. Donāt get me started, I could do a ton of posts on these š
Free the babies. Put them in the floor. This gives them the most unrestricted opportunity to move and explore their little bodies and environment!
PS- no guilt at ALL for using containers. Iām a mom, I get it! Just try to limit the use to 15 minutes at a time. Then put that babe in the floor.
Comment below or DM me if you have questions about floor time or containers!

This sweet girlās mama followed her instincts and reached out to get a PTās opinion. She then incorporated specific stretches, strengthening, and positioning into their daily routine and playtime- Look at the difference it made in only THREE WEEKS!
If youāre noticing any asymmetries in your little one, letās chat! Acting quickly is key š
Iām passionate about wellness and preventive care, which could even just be taking a minute to yourself to get in some stretching!
I love when stretches/mobility moves address more than one area- more bang for your buck!
Give them a try and let me know whatcha think š¤©
āŖļø Start in a butterfly position with your back straight. Hinge forward at the hips and use your elbows to gently push your knees down, feeling a stretch in your inner thighs and relaxing your pelvic floor on inhales.
āŖļø Add in an upper trap stretch! Bring one ear down to your shoulder, gently drawing the opposite shoulder down.
āŖļø Keeping that opposite shoulder down, bring your nose down towards your shoulder.
āŖļø This last one gives you a great pec stretch, some thoracic and lumbar rotation (much needed postpartum šš¼), and even a glute stretch. *wouldnāt recommend this in second or third trimester but letās chat about modifications!
