Our team recently took part in a powerful poverty simulation hosted by OSU-OKC at Rose State College. This experience gave us a deeper understanding of the hidden challenges many of our clients face every day—challenges that often serve as barriers to meaningful employment.

By stepping into the shoes of those navigating the complexities of poverty, homelessness, and the related social structures, we gained valuable insights into the realities our clients live with. This experience reinforced the connection between poverty and barriers to employment, highlighting the critical role Goodwill plays in helping individuals overcome these obstacles.

At Goodwill Central Oklahoma, we are committed to breaking down these barriers and empowering our clients to not only secure meaningful work but also provide support to them to maintain it. This simulation underscored the significance of our mission and reminded us that by addressing root causes of unemployment, such as poverty, we’re not just helping people find jobs—we’re helping them build better lives.

📅 TODAY our Mobile Employment Services will be visiting Pardon and Parole and Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City offering FREE career and employment services, like resume help, application assistance, and assisted computer access. 💻🌟
