We’ve been home for less than 24 hours and I still just keep thinking about our blockbuster Morgan Medallion show! Much admiration and respect goes to the judges, John Hufferd and Belle Hufferd, who officiated with class and professionalism. It felt like a dream, as our Cottonwood Creek horses made victory passes in 30 of our 39 classes! If it seemed like it rained blue ribbons and championships on us, it was because of the dedicated and professional people who take on this huge horse endeavor with me both at the show and keep things running at home. Ryan, Jose, Manuel and Alex thank you. Melissa Swain Cotton, Madi DeBee and Nacho Saldana, your dedication, competence, loyalty, friendship and pure talent blow me away everyday. I’m so thankful for you. Scott Charlton, you are the best cheerleader, fierce protector, helpful planner, and thoughtful hug-giver I could ever hope for. Emmy, you are talented beyond belief, hard working, smart, an amazing horsewoman and I’m so proud of you. My dad, Kraeg, is always fixing everything we break, listening to my concerns, watching over the ranch, the critters and picking up the loose ends. Kent Moeller and Sean Cassidy run a tight ship and made sure all of the exhibitors were looked after and informed. Frank Forgette, my talented blacksmith of nearly 20 years…you’re an artist. Dr. Finley and Oklahoma City Equine always have our horses best interest and health on the forefront. Lori Nelson rocked the job as secretary and special thank you to Stacy Hennessy for her vision and organization! Paul and Danica Brisco, Cierra Holtz and Eric Antman, Chad, Lane, and Sydney…thank you for your friendship, support and filling in our gaps. You are all pure gold. To my loving customers/friends and barn family….I am so proud of you and so honored to be trusted with your horses, children and yourselves. Thank you for your faith, your sportsmanship, your realism and thoughtfulness in looking after each other, your caretakers, and me. I’m so proud to have the honor of your trust, friendship, and love.❤️

With over 80 well-wishers turning out to celebrate Nacho Saldana and Melissa Swain’s 10+ years of working here at Cottonwood Creek Ranch, you just knew it was going to be a good time! Our DJ kept the tunes blasting and line dancers dancing, the bounce house kept the kids busy and “Chunky,” the miniature horse, made her rounds with coolers full of beer, water and coke (hugs, scratches, or carrots were all suitable forms of remuneration)! Congratulations and thank you Melissa and Nacho, you make all of our lives better and we were honored to spend the evening celebrating YOU!

Thank you to Madi, Melissa, and Jen for being on my rocket launch support bunch and helicoptering me back to myself when the world got tough! Dad, thank you always being there to video and photograph everything and for the help setting up and packing up. Scott, thank you going above and beyond and stepping in everytime you see a need. From packing up, to bringing the giant air conditioning and literally supplying the whole fairgrounds with restaurant style Margaritas and Pina Coladas….you never cease to surprise me in the best of ways! To Sandy, Kelly and Kelly, Brendan , Cheska, Belle, Nat, Frank and all of the Route 66 staff and volunteers who made this show happen…we are so very thankful for your kindness, caring, flexibility and professionalism.
We are blessed with the most incredible clientele who truly understand what we give to their horses, each class, each rider and what it drains out of everyone emotionally and physically to show horses of this caliber how they need to be prepared and cared for. Thank you from the bottom of my humbled heart. ❤️

Big enough for any sized rider, this game 10 year old gelding loves to work. He’ll tolerate a heavier handed rider, keep a good rider challenged but still never do anything unsafe or nefarious. Has been shown in the Classic/English divisions by his amateur owner in harness and under saddle.

Need safe AND beautiful?! I’m partial to this one as I originally broke him and he is of some of my favorite breeding: GULFWIND! Max is the real deal! He’s tolerant in the bridle, steady as a rock at all gaits, does patterns and is gorgeous on top of it all! Quality enough to show amateur, and experienced enough to do walk/jog. Already a Reserve World Champion and he’s got many more victory passes to make!

Small, W-I-D-E and FUN! “Dark T” has been used quite a bit as a lesson horse and trail horse. He is ba****ck in the video. Has been hauled to trail rides and even went in the lake! (pics in comments) He has some zip to him, and is a great practice horse. Sound, lives inside or outside, easy to catch, and up to date on all of his vaccines, worming, teeth, farrier and coggins. He’s been our barn show champion on several occasions and is cute as can be. VERY economically priced…..and economical to feed, as you can tell. 🙂

Very well trained and cheerful Knabstrubber dressage mare who also just won the All Breed Hunter Pleasure Open Championship at the Pin Oak Horse Show. Thrilled to be home after a fabulous week at the Pin Oak Horse show in Katy, TX! We debuted many new young horses (and trained new young grooms!) and knocked the winter rust off of our returning teams! From our great barn lunch at Babin’s Seafood, to our many victory passes and learning classes, we had a fulfilling and fabulous time! Thank you so much to everyone who made this show a success for us here and kept things going at the ranch at home. Thank you to my wonderful clients who trust me with themselves, their young people and horses. ❤️
