For 40 years, The Flaming Lips have made amazing music and represented Oklahoma City around the world. This weekend, the Lips are celebrating those four decades with two free concerts at the Zoo Amphitheatre. In recognition of their remarkable legacy, I am proclaiming this weekend to be FLAMING LIPS WEEKEND in OKC!

1970: The Yeti. This coat was made from the entire skin of a Navajo goat (poor thing). It weighed a ton and would cover a child from head to toe. Therefore as children my friends and I would take turns in donning it.. go out into the street whilst other children ran ahead shouting to passers by ‘the Yeti is coming, the Yeti is coming!’ Followed by ‘The Yeti’ lumbering into sight round the corner 😂😂😂The snakeskin boots made by Terry De Havilland, were one pair of several Ginger (dad) owned in all different styles .. coloured patchwork leather etc… when he was 35 he took them all and threw them away saying ‘I’m too old to wear this stuff now!’ FACTS from the home .. at this page 😂
