OG&E volunteers assisted individuals as they grocery shopped at The Salvation Army Central Oklahoma Area Command's Client-Choice Food Pantry, which serves the public in Oklahoma and Cleveland counties. Clients can shop the pantry once every 30 days for free fresh produce, canned goods and healthy frozen items, providing meal supplementation while helping people maintain their independence and dignity. As of 8 p.m., approximately 2,900 customers are without service, down from a peak of more than 20,000 customers. 85% of customers who experienced an outage following last night’s severe storms in eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas have been restored.

Last night, severe storms including rain and damaging winds up to 70 mph moved through the eastern portion of OG&E’s service area causing downed power lines, broken power poles, and damage to cross arms and other equipment attached to poles. As of 11:45 a.m., approximately 9,100 customers are without service, down from a peak of more than 20,000 customers.
1,100 operations personnel are restoring service to homes and businesses that can accept power. Our crews have been and will continue to work around the clock until power is fully restored.

Sooner Power Plant employees helped the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC) build 10 Shelbyville fish habitats for Sooner Lake. These structures will form reefs when multiple cubes are submerged together, providing a thriving environment for fish.
