After the Emancipation Proclamation, many Confederate states didn't enforce it, especially Texas. Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when 2,000 Union soldiers arrived in Galveston Bay to announce that over 250,000 enslaved people were free by executive decree.
Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, also known as C-PTSD, is a new concept in the therapy sphere. It's a condition resulting from prolonged, chronic exposure to trauma, often occurring during developmental years and within close relationships. Unlike PTSD, which typically arises from a single traumatic event, CPTSD stems from ongoing trauma.
