It's a busy time of year, and we hope you had a wonderful season of Thanksgiving, even if it may have looked a little different this year. Hopefully you even found a few bargains along the way for you and yours. We now invite you to join us for the global giving event: Giving Tuesday. We understand that many have been hit hard by the COVID-19 Pandemic and that the State of Kansas must make difficult decisions regarding budgetary matters. That said, it is unconscionable for those cuts to impact our most vulnerable Kansans. Direct Support Professionals are essential workers that provide services in high-risk environments for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Many IDD service providers are facing a financial crisis that threatens to seriously disrupt service delivery and decrease capacity in the days ahead. Governor Kelly can and should do better and we encourage you to reach out to her office in advocacy for IDD services and protections for the provider network that has already suffered an incredible economic loss during this difficult time. Let all of your elected officials know about the importance of this issue and help make a difference today!

Somatic Painting – 6/20 @ 10:30 am. Teens & adults pair movement with the visual art of painting. This class will explore somatic sensation while using a wide array of unconventional materials and techniques to tap into the felt sense of painting while making an acrylic painting on canvas. No need to have a dance background, just enjoy movement and see where your creativity takes you. These classes are supported through a partnership with the Kansas City Ballet School. In addition to their existing adaptive classes, these workshops at Create Art Studio feature Kansas City Ballet School instructor, Kim Gatchell and Create Art Studio instructor, Ahli Hedges.
