Drive-thru Covid-19 testing with no out of pocket costs for anyone on Thursday May 21 from noon-5 pm at Sarah Bush Lincoln’s Newton office

Sarah Bush Lincoln is expanding COVID-19 drive-thru testing for non-symptomatic individuals in three other communities starting next week.
Testing will be available:
SBL Tuscola Clinic – noon to 5 pm, Wednesday, May 20
SBL Newton Clinic – noon to 5 pm, Thursday, May 21
SBL Bonutti Clinic, Effingham – noon to 6 pm, Friday, May 22
Those interested in being tested will first call 217 258-7490 to pre-register. Participants can arrive any time during the day. There is no out-of-pocket cost for the $95 test. The participant’s health insurance or the CARES Act will be billed for the service.
Pre-register from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
People coming for testing should follow the signage when pulling into the parking lot. They will be tested inside their vehicles.
It generally takes 24 hours for SBL to receive the results. People who test positive for COVID-19 will receive a telephone call, while those who test negative will receive a letter in the US Mail. Please refrain from calling for your results. All test resulting is coordinated through one area in the Health Center, which is currently inundated with sorting test results. This is not an antibody test.
Testing continues at the Sarah Bush Lincoln campus, people with last names beginning with A to M can come anytime from 8 am to 5 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, while people with last names beginning with N to Z can come anytime from 8 am to 5 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Any pre-registered person can come from 8 to 5 pm on Fridays. People coming for testing should arrive from the Loxa Road entrance and exit the same way. Please follow the signage.

The City of Newton, Illinois and Jasper County, Newton Illinois are partnering up buying bulk hand sanitizer made locally by JJ Outlet. The hand sanitizer will be sold by the gallon to Jasper County residents and businesses.

Our community, and more specifically Newton Care Center, has been impacted by this pandemic in a major way. To date, Newton Care Center has 18 confirmed COVID-19 Residents.

We want to invite our entire community to gather together on Wednesday, April 22 at 7PM, to pray over these residents, the staff, and the medical personnel.

We would love for you and your family to join us in your vehicle as we drive around the facility; being led in prayer(s) by local Church Pastors, asking for protection, peace, and healing over our community.

There’s still a big need for masks! We are still accepting donations of masks and appreciate all that we have already received! There’s a box for mask donations right outside the Chamber office.

In these challenging times, we know that sometimes people need access to the internet to preform necessary tasks. Currently the library is closed due to the "Stay at Home" order however, the library has boosted the signal for our free wifi and has it on now from 8am to 8pm. Anyone is welcome to use the free wifi from the comfort of their vehicle so long as you remain in your vehicle
