Some TNR/TNVR clinics are non profit & receive grants to cover the cost of surgery & supplies (bedding, litter, supplies used before & after the surgery). They don't hold a cat overnight for recovery & they don't (usually) provide any other veterinary services. The local nonprofit clinic in my area charges $25 for a cat of either gender that is brought in in a trap. Plus $10 for a rabies vaccination. Tame females are $80. & tame males are $50. This compares to $500-600. to spay a female & $300-400 to neuter a male at a regular, for profit hospital. 💖 Individuals or groups doing TNR take advantage of these clinics when they are available and provide post-op care for ferals (recommended holding for males is 24- hours after surgery & females 48 hours (less if they are lactating or longer if they were late-term pregnant or in heat). If the TNR individual receives donations or do any fundraising, they may be able to provide surgery for cats they trap for little or no cost to the caregiver. This is why I repeatedly urge everyone feeding outside cats to try & find TNR help instead of just assuming you can't afford to have them S/N. 😽💕

Luna has spent her life outdoors where she developed an awful ear infection that required surgery. She is on the mend now and is waiting on a home to call her own. She is 3 years old and is a shepherd- lab mix. She's very smart and after warming up to you she will be your best side kick.

We are frequently asked if we help Richland County Animal Control.... here is your answer!! That's why we are here!!
This is Boy.
He's one year old. His life has been a rough road. He was recently abandoned on a property, so we brought him in to help find him a family. If you can't foster or adopt then please just come up and sit with him or take him for a walk. Oh and by the way, he smiles too!!
If you have any stuffed animals in good shape please bring to us as we will be giving them out for prizes at our upcoming carnival!!!
Oh the difference love can make!!
Please don't send your children up to Claws and Paws with animals to relinquish! There is paperwork to sign as we have to follow procedures when it comes to accepting animals. If you sent your child up today with a pregnant cat please contact us immediately.
Thank you Lisa for the donations!!!!! We appreciate you!!!!

Nola and Bailey still sit together waiting. Not one person ever stepped up after their owner passed away a few months ago. We hate to separate them, however, the likelihood of someone adopting them together is little to none....obviously! Let's do what we can to get these girls a home. We promised their momma before she passed away that we would- let's make it happen!

The journey in providing rescued animals a Safe Spot and Forever Homes
Our founder, Shelley Brinkley has evolved from a young girl rescuing animals, to a Local Grassroots Animal Rescue Advocate. Shelley’s spirit encompasses her childhood dream: rescuing and saving every animal as possible. “They deserve a life of comfort, compassion, and companionship”. Don’t we all?!
Her journey has led her to assisting in searching missing animals, rescued animals on her own, assisted in the adoption process of other rescues, shelters, and personally taken a stand in the community by housing neglected, abused, and/or owner relinquished animals into her own home.
With nearly a decade in pursuing the dream, her trailblazing spirit and action, combined with honest ambition, CLAWS AND PAWS RESALE in Olney, IL opened in 2019, thus began the “Safe Spot for All Paws” Campaign. The goal continues to provide this safe spot and thus placing these beautiful animals in a “Forever Home”. Later in 2019, the animals that Shelley continually rescues were blessed with the Grand Opening of the Animal Rescue Center located at the CLAWS AND PAWS RESALE shop.
Donations and volunteers alike continue in building and sustaining its mission...
