We deeply appreciate your business so please where your mask when you come visit us. We wear ours to protect you. And, I hope you will wear yours to protect us. Thank you so much! We really love you. Dear community, we have been called to action. This Friday, June 12 we will be closed in order to stand in solidarity with the state wide general strike called by the Black Lives Matter Seattle chapter. “The day of action will include a general strike and a silent march to honor lives lost and send a powerful message that Washingtonians no longer tolerate the racism that is built into so many of our institutions.”

Big shout out to the , despite being closed, they were kind enough to cook burgers and fries for all the folks who worked at Westside and Wildwood today. Throughout this whole ordeal I’ve had contact with several business owners where we’ve vented, shared ideas, compared notes and offered support. I’ve been feeling very grateful to have them as neighbors and as community members that I can rely on in times like this.

We have been the recipients of, and witnesses to, some pretty cool small acts of kindness and it’s a total game changer for our morale. Our hope with the pizza lunches is to offer even a tiny bit of that, as well as a way to say thank you and we see you! Since Tuesday we have visited the following essential workers and small businesses: PiPE (Partners in Prevention Education), Matchless Brewing, Spuds, Calliope Farm, Capital Medical Center, Assured Home Health, The Eastside Olympia Food Coop, and The South Bay Fire Department.

One of our staff is an incredibly talented seamstress and carpenter among other things. When she’s not working at the store she’s sewing swim suits or building her new studio. So when the pandemic started, of course she went to work making masks. We’re so grateful to have been able to get some! On her instagram page you can find a tutorial video for folks to follow and make their own masks.

“Where you spend your money during the pandemic is what will be here after the pandemic.” I don’t remember where I saw or heard this quote, but it stuck with me. We are bringing growler fills back, offering exclusively Olympia area local beers and cider. In order to make room for the locals, we will offer a special ($8 fills) on whatever we currently have on draft outside of the immediate area. Bring your growlers to either store, we will sanitize the bottle and fill ‘em up for ya.

(Sunday’s lunch) Often times our wildwood morning crew will surprise each other with smoothies from . You could say Zoe’s smoothies are our love language. We are so happy they are still open, especially as the weather gets warmer. Not only are their juices and smoothies delicious and nutritious, but they also have other immune boosting shots like fire cider that are so good for keeping our bodies strong.

Today’s pizza lunch is for the Intercity Transit. Thank you for continuing to provide free transportation to the folks who need it while also encouraging people to stay home unless it’s essential. We see the compromise you are making in order to keep this essential service available and we are appreciative! Many of our employees rely heavily on the bus system. Luckily the weather is nice and we can dust off our walking shoes and bikes. Tomorrow we’ll visit Calliope Farm 🥬🥕

I’ve written this post over 4 different ways and none have been able to fully capture what I want to express. I guess what it comes down to is this, we feel so grateful for the Olympia Fire Department. We acknowledge the huge sacrifice you all make regularly, but particularly now. Also, we really enjoyed coordinating and delivering their pizza. They are some of the most enthusiastic and kind individuals. Not only that, but we received a hand delivered thank you card not more than a couple hours after lunch! What?! Honestly, small gestures make a big difference in these times. At least in our pizza hearts.♥️ 🍕

Our skills are in tossing pies not taking pictures... but here we are, as promised, at St. Pete’s delivering lunch to the Emergency Room staff! I don’t think I have to explain the significant work these folks are doing. We definitely want to keep them fed & as well taken care of/ appreciated as possible! The true frontline warriors. Thank you for going to work everyday!! ❤️🙌🏼
Here’s a hint for tomorrow’s lunch... 🔥
Thank you to those individuals who have contributed to this project. Again, if anyone wants to be a part of buying lunches for essential workers you can call either store to donate.

If you’re like me, coffee is pretty essential so it was sad when Olympia Coffee Roasters closed their cafes. We’re buying them pizza today because we love them as our neighbors, but also because we are inspired by the integrity of their business model. Since the roasters are still roasting they created a batch of beans cleverly named, “Tip Jar.” 100% of the proceeds will go to their baristas to support them during the closure. OCR is B Corporation and a role model to us all! Thank you leading the way, particularly in these trying times. Next stop St. Pete’s ER staff!

Pizza for essential workers! Our first delivery went to the westside They have been working tirelessly to continue to provide folks with necessary groceries, as well as continuously modifying the shopping experience to keep folks as safe as possible. They are offering a pre-order and pick up service, limiting the number of shoppers at a time, and regularly sanitizing surfaces. THANK YOU SO MUCH Your community is so grateful!

04/01/2020

We’re so excited to be open again! During our break, we spent a lot of time thinking about the folks on the frontline, and other essential workers who have continued to show up to their jobs everyday to provide various services for us all. We want to give back. We have decided to donate pizza to different essential workers everyday and we would like to invite you to be a part of this process. Name your favorite essential businesses below or a service you rely on and we will reach out to them to arrange a “lunch date” (delivery). If you feel just as excited as we do and you want to participate you can call us and buy an essential worker “lunch,” by choosing an amount to donate to this project. We are so grateful to you all, to be back and to be able to give back. We are all in this together.

04/01/2020

Did you miss us? We sure missed all of you! It’s not an April fools joke, tomorrow (April 1st) we’re really back! We used our break to rest and restructure.

Here’s what’s new:

• We are going completely contactless.
• Orders must be placed and paid for over the phone prior to pick up. If you are ordering from Wildwood, you also have the option of placing your order through our website (hopefully this will free up the phone lines a bit). •
• We are open for pick up from 12:00PM- 9:00PM through our makeshift pick up window (a door with a table on the threshold).
•Delivery hours will only be from 4:00 PM-9:00 PM. Drivers will call you when they arrive in order to arrange a contactless drop off.

“Stay home, stay healthy.”
We have decided it is time for us to go into hibernation as well. Although we have taken several protective measures, the growing risk to our community has weighed heavy on our hearts and minds. We no longer feel we can continue in good conscious. Both stores will close after dinner Wednesday in order to evaluate the safest strategy going forward. In the meantime, we will crack open some board games/ puzzles and join you all in social isolation. We can not wait too see your healthy faces soon. It has been a true pleasure to serve you all.
Love Vic’s
P.S. delivery services will be suspended after 4:00 PM today.

03/17/2020

03/12/2020

WE’RE ON DOORDASH! If you live within a 5 mile radius of our Westside location and you don’t want to leave your house, you can now find us on DoorDash. Stay healthy Olympia, we love you! 🖖
