Want an unforgettable summer experience on the beautiful waters of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Puget Sound? Join us for a whale watching tour with Puget Sound Express! This family-run business boasts an exceptional sighting rate. Enjoy a comfortable, fast tour boat with indoor seating, a wrap-around viewing deck, snack bar, and restroom. You'll have the chance to see a variety of whales, bald eagles, harbor seals, sea lions, tufted puffins and more! We are so grateful to all our brave rappellers and the people who are supporting them! Thanks to this collective effort, more than $55,000 has already been raised for Senior Services for South Sound.

In one week from today, we hope everyone will join us in Huntamer Park. Our rappellers -- aged 10 to 85! -- will demonstrate their bravery in support of a worthy cause. We are so proud of them all for showing that age doesn't matter when it comes to service above self.

Some of our participants have not yet reached their goals, so we encourage folks to help them -- by donating to their campaigns or by sharing them with others.

We are 74% of the way to our goal of $75,000. Thank your for all your support and for believing in our mission to improve the quality of life for people as they age!

With 12 days left before our first ever Over The Edge rappelling event, some of our participants can use your support to reach their goals! These brave souls are each trying to raise $1,000 for Senior Services. Here's Carol, a wonderful new volunteer at the Olympia Senior Center.

Why does Carol wants to go Over The Edge? She says, "I am fortunate to have my health, a roof over my head, a car to get around, and enough resources to live comfortably. This is not the case for many seniors I encounter who struggle to make ends meet, rely on public transportation, are facing major health issues and live alone or are caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's/Parkinson's or a terminal illness."

With 24 days to go before our Over The Edge Event, we have crossed $45,000 in donations. Amazing! We are so grateful to all our participants and the 311 supporters who have gotten us this far!

Twenty of our intrepid rappellers have already met their individual goals -- congratulations!

Eight of our participants still need support to get there. There's plenty of time and we have no doubt that everyone will make it.

Our big event is going to be a blast! We encourage everyone to come out to Huntamer Park in Lacey to watch our band of courageous rappellers as they descend. Watch for more details about our ground party as we get a little closer to the event.

Our Care Connection program provides people in Thurston and Mason Counties —primarily aged 60 and above, and adults with disabilities — with affordable, trusted and reliable in-home care. If you or someone you know needs care, take a look at what we offer!

Care Connection | Senior Services for South Sound Care Connection provides seniors with an affordable, trusted and reliable place to turn to when needing a variety of assistance – companionship, personal care support, dementia-specific needs, personal assistance, end of life care and more.

More than 40 vets work with us to help low-income seniors through The PALS Fund. We're so happy to welcome one of those vets, Olympia Veterinary Hospital, as a PALS sponsor. Thanks for supporting this important program!

Thank you to everyone who has supported The PALS Fund this year! So far, 123 folks have raised $47,651 to help low-income seniors keep their pets healthy. That gets us 60% of the way to our annual goal of $80,000. There's still plenty of time to make your gift to support this important program.

Meet Jimmy and Taco.

Last year we helped these longtime companions find housing through our Home Share program. Taco, who is 12 years old, recently began drinking a whole lot of water and showing other symptoms that worried Jimmy.

"I'm just so thankful for the PALS folks," said Jimmy when we worked with him to get Taco seen by a local vet. "Without this kind of help, I don't know what I would have done. It means a lot to have people caring about you, and these people really care!"

This year, The PALS Fund has already assisted 113 seniors in Thurston and Mason Counties with more than $25,000 in vet bills. With your support, more than 300 low-income seniors could take care of their pets in 2024!

Darlene is one of the folks we've helped. "I'm almost 80 years old and I live on social security and disability. I don't have a lot of money. My cat, Blackjack, got in a fight and was hurt bad. Just to take the cat to the vet was 95 bucks. The people from PALS, they were kind and worked with me, talking to the vet right away. I was so appreciative of their kindness as much as the access to the funds."
