An Evening with EcoTHRIVE Housing
Join the NW EcoBuilding Guild for our July Education Event: A New Approach to Affordable Homeownership on July 24th at 6:30 PM. Our guest speaker, Denise Henrikson, Managing Director of EcoTHRIVE Housing, will present EcoTHRIVE's work and vision as a community-led community land trust (CLT) that focuses on developing small private homes co-owned by residents through a limited equity cooperative (LEC).
Denise will present the inspiring story behind the Burien Village. The cooperative will comprise of 27 ecoCottages, each with a kitchen and bath, and a common house and playground, all nestled in a lush landscape of native and edible plants. Our conversation with Denise will uncover EcoTHRIVE's mission and impact, understand how to overcome challenges in affordable housing, integrate sustainability for community impact, and discuss the future and aspirations of limited equity cooperatives in our region.
