The seeds have been planted and the women of Telas Que Cuidan (TQC) are ready to bloom. The women involved in this cohort are impacted by Huntington’s Disease and other neurodegenerative diseases that are prevalent in their community.  Please join us in helping launch their entrepreneurial efforts in our first annual “Petals of Change” campaign.

Click the link in the bio to donate towards the purchase of sewing machines for the women of TQC. As a thank you for your generous donation, we will send you a unique lapel flower designed and hand-made by the talented women of TQC.

The Telas Que Cuidan project offers local women in Juan de Acosta, Colombia technical training in designing, patternmaking, and sewing for clothing and fashionable goods. This cohort of tenacious women are building on their skills to source, design, and market their individual and unique creations. Their personal creations electrified the runway in Juan de Acosta as we celebrated their determination, talent, and leadership to unite and empower their community one stitch at a time.

World Humanitarian Day on August 19 honors humanitarian aid workers all over the world. Established by the UN in 2009, this day commemorates the anniversary of the bombing of the United Nations headquarters in Iraq. 22 people lost their lives, including the UN’s High Commissioner for Human Rights.
Humanitarian aid workers provide life-saving assistance to suffering people all over the world. Those workers who live in conflict zones or in areas devastated by natural disasters are especially vulnerable. Anyone and everyone can be a humanitarian.
