The seeds have been planted and the women of Telas Que Cuidan (TQC) are ready to bloom. The women involved in this cohort are impacted by Huntington’s Disease and other neurodegenerative diseases that are prevalent in their community. The Telas Que Cuidan project offers local women in Juan de Acosta, Colombia technical training in designing, patternmaking, and sewing for clothing and fashionable goods. This cohort of tenacious women are building on their skills to source, design, and market their individual and unique creations. Their personal creations electrified the runway in Juan de Acosta as we celebrated their determination, talent, and leadership to unite and empower their community one stitch at a time.
DK Kim Foundation is honored to recognize communities impacted by rare diseases. We celebrate their strength, tenacity and resilience.
