For my family, every year we enjoy bonding together watching the firework’s show 🎆🎇that the city provides. It’s a time to reflect on the historic meaning of this day.

Apostle Paul also talked about freedom on his letters to the city of Galatia. That we are called to be free. But to use it wisely. This freedom is not a ticket 🚫 to sin now, repent later. But this freedom is to be used to serve one another in love ❤️.

As we celebrate the 4th of July Independence Day, may we not only remember the historic value of this day in our country, but also practice the freedom by serving one another humbly in love.

A lot of us started out the year strong. 💪 With our diet plans 🍎, goal setting at work📈, or perhaps vacation agendas for 2024 ✈️. Here we are, half way through the year, and a lot of us feel like the months just gone by, and our initial fire is dwindling down. We come across unexpected bumps that derails our plans and shatters our hope. Or maybe we wake up and realize the life we are living is not the one we expected, much less the one we wanted. Leaving us unhappy 😔, joyless 😭 and discontent 😤.

The first part of our key verse talks about how the enemy wants us to feel discouraged, beaten up and simply give up. This is the tactic of our enemy. To let us believe that we can’t be happy no matter how we try - Lies! 🤥

Yet the second part of our key verse, Jesus declares exactly the opposite! Jesus came to earth so we could not only have life but be empowered to choose to live life abundantly despite the thief’s intention. 😄

As we press on the second half of the year, I pray that God would help you see and accept that, although sometimes we couldn’t change our circumstances, we can change our attitude and how we live each day. The life we are living today is the life God has given us, and in Christ, our life has abundant potential. Our peace, joy, contentment and fulfillment depend on the choices we make, and where we base it upon. 🙌☝️🔥

Keeping up with the Joneses as they say. We come up with so many reasons or excuses for overworking. Sometimes it can be as valid as providing for our family, or with the inflation so high, we do not have any choice as grocery prices keep on soaring. But then, there’s the other side of the reason why people overwork. Vices, branded clothes that we can’t afford? Usually, it’s a Values problem. We start valuing the wrong thing. Acquisition of ‘stuff” above all else. the Bible says that we have two options: we can either spend all our time chasing things we do not need, or to choose otherwise and reduce our stress level - but we can’t have both.

⚖️BALANCE⚖️ What good is it to become president of your company but lose your kids and your spouse in the process? I’ve never heard anyone take their last breath and say “I wish had spent more time at the office.”
