Did you know that we offer a SPINELESS hardy cactus? There are no pricklies on this "prickly pear" cactus. (see close-up photo) These are a large 3-gallon size pot for only $29.99 and they do have lovely blooms in spring that mature into tasty edible fruits in the fall. Look for these in our rose garden area.

Do your trees look like this? Wondering about those brown spots? Many locations around our area look this way as a result of the recent Circada insects. It may be a bit unsightly, but is primarily cosmetic for large mature trees such as this. For small fruit trees, it may be a small setback. Prune smaller trees to remove the damaged branch tips, if you can reach them. The best thing you can do to help all of your trees, shrubs, and plants is to WATER regularly all summer long and into fall. (October is generally our driest month.) The Circadas won't be back until 2037.

Just a little reminder...Today is set aside to remember those heroes who gave their all for our country and to honor their sacrifice. We will not be wishing anyone a "happy Memorial Day" because that would not be appropriate. Instead, we say "Thank You" with all our heart. We must never forget the fallen and always remember that "America is 'the land of the free' because of the brave."
