Anyone interested in our next round of laying hens? They will be production breeds (golden comets, production reds, a few Rhode Island reds and a hand full of other breeds that have gotten mixed in)

So if yall want to geek out on Gunner just a little this is a little about his background and pedigree. We love our boy! We searched long and hard for our boy driving to Carolina to get him, and we were sad to find out that the breeders he came from wasn't going to have any more because of the tragic lose of their boxers. I was determined that Gunner genetics live on. I can't wait to see what Gunner and Bliss have after seeing these puppies from Gunner and Dobby. Dobby came from a wonder breeder out of North Alabama and I will be more then happy to connect anyone with Sarah if you want to find out more about her program. This is for prospective puppy parents.
(Ps: it will be 2025 before we have Bliss and Gunner puppies)

Our Little Opelika Farm
It all started when I bought bunch of chicks from Tractor Supply and they wouldnāt live. My son and daughter had so wanted chickens and were just devastated. So we ordered some from a hatcherāhalf of them died. Frustrated, but undaunted, we found some local folks that had chickens (that same breed that we lost), all heathy and happy, and started reproducing our own. It turned out that I had a knack for raising chickens! Thereās something so special about assuring quality from the start: from the kinds of coops that we design and keep clean, the quality food that we provide, and the daily attention and love that we shower over our little poultry families. The experience was so much more valuable that we started raising chicks for other folks in an effort to support our local farmers. Without them in our economy, we are at a loss. All of our chickens are ethically raised and sourced. We take no chances with disease, always careful to sanitize and assure that every measure is taken to preserve not just their health, but also their happiness. Josh (my husband) builds all of the pens from scratch. Every weekend, you will find him on the farm with a drill in one hand! The difference in our farm and so many others is in our work ethic: we work to assure for quality, not quantity, and will always be honest about the sourcing of eggs and lineage. But even more than that, we will never just ācut you looseā after a sale! Iām always there for those questions, hints and tips, or just a chat about your new flock.
