An amazing week in Charlotte, NC for training at Movement Mortgage. I learned a lot, got to see some old faces & meet lots of new ones, ate way too many good meals, was able to tour one of the Movement Schools & see firsthand the impact that the Movement Foundation has in developing character and a high quality education in the schools’ scholars, & in true Tanner fashion, I ended the week with a bang in the ER with a kidney stone & missed my flight home 🙃 BUT I’m excited to finally be back home in Bama & to put everything I learned to use!

PSA‼️ It’s true — mortgage rates have dropped some. But PLEASE, I’m begging you, be wary of any post you see or calls/emails you receive from the big box lenders quoting a direct rate. There is so much that goes into rates — loan amount, loan program, credit score, loan-to-value ratio, among other things. Also be wary of working with any lender where you do not have direct contact with the loan officer. This will directly affect the customer service you receive, and I promise, it’s NOT worth the headache that comes with it.

If you think you may benefit from a refinance, please reach out & I’ll be happy to look over your scenario with you. Keep in mind that today is the first day we’re really seeing these rate drops. Things are about to get hectic, don’t panic or get in a frenzy. There is a large chance they may continue to fall some. Be sure you’re working with a loan officer who is working for YOU and making communication and transparency a top priority.

Tanner has been in the mortgage industry since October 2019. She spent her first two years in the industry as a loan officer assistant, which provided her the opportunity to learn all the ins and outs of the entire loan process. She made the leap to loan officer in January 2022 & has been with FTHL since November 2022. Tanner received her Bachelor's degree in Communications with a minor in Public Relations/Marketing from Troy University in May 2019, and she creates all our social media graphics/marketing materials for the Gulf Coast Branch.

Tanner has two siblings, two nieces, two nephews, a great niece, a great nephew & a 7-year-old doodle named Oliver. When not working, you can find Tanner spending time with family and friends, on the beach or boat, reading or shopping. She loves all things organization and home improvement.

Tanner's favorite part of her job is guiding homebuyers through the loan process with a transparent and informative approach. She specializes in working with first time home buyers and enjoys making the homebuying process as easy & stress-free as possible.
