🤍Bridal Set🤍

We love the choice of Cherry Stripe for this bridal set being gifted this week! This cherry wood was grown locally in Milford, CT and is made by adhering a piece of maple wood between two pieces of cherry wood, then hand carving as the wood turns and seeing the stripe pattern develop before your eyes. The contrast of the rosy cherry with the light maple makes for such a lovely color combination. These utensils will last this couple a lifetime of happiness and we wish them the same! 🤩Spotlight on Walnut🤩

Light wood is very trendy right now, and for good reason. Its honey hue and delicate texture is clear and smooth and available from so many different types of wood. But I have to be honest that I just love dark wood, like this piece of walnut here. Deep, rich brown tones from trees like walnut and even some of our darker spalted maple pieces show such unique lines in the wood grain. This ice cream scoop is handcrafted from locally-grown walnut wood and I love the way the dark wood contrasts with the silver metal of the hardware. Whatever wood tones you fancy, there is something to appreciate about their beauty!

We had an incredible day at the first-ever Westport yesterday!! Over 1100 people came to browse, shop, chat, and enjoy the beautiful spring day and amazing artistry of so many vendors. Thank you to all our friends and customers for coming to support our small business and to Pop Shop for partnering with us.

We sold out of several items, have just a few left in other categories, and will be hard at work in our shop over the next few weeks to build up our inventory so we have more beautiful pieces for our next market on the Milford Green on June 15!!! 🤩Spotlight on Pear Wood🤩

Our newest wood has made quite a name for itself already! Pear wood was our first custom order choice of 2024 and our top requested wood for new pizza cutters. It’s easy to see why! Pear is outstanding in its deep caramel color and the sheen once finishing oils are applied. Our Pear wood pieces all feature beautiful, natural grain which makes each one completely individual. In Europe, Pear wood plays the same role that Cherry does in the US: it is used in many applications to give a distinct look for which there is no substitute.

Our Pear wood was locally-grown in Milford, CT and is from a tree that came down in a storm. We have Pear items available online, for local pick up, and custom order. Limited quantities available. Please message us with inquiries or requests!

⭐️Our first custom projects of 2024!⭐️

☕️We are so excited to have created these “sister” pear wood coffee scoops for a customer and her sister! They each sport a hand carved stripe pattern and are complementary in their beautiful caramel color and lovely sheen. This customer got to choose which wood she’d like her coffee scoops to be made from, the shape of the handle, and the stripe detail. We love the way they came out!!

🏠We also made a set of 4 personalized coasters for a dear friend as a housewarming gift. We chose CT spalted maple wood so the family would have a token of love from their home state. We designed each coaster to have a different design but with similar elements that would tie the set together. We hope this will be a special keepsake for them!

We are so excited about this newest small batch of items we’ve added to our shop! Take a look at our Spalted Maple Ice Cream Scoop w/ Epoxy Inlay & Hickory Heart Wood Coffee Scoop!

🤎🖤🍨We have been experimenting with filling naturally-occurring voids in the wood with epoxy. We chose copper & black epoxy to fill this piece of spalted maple wood and love the way the mix of colors complemented the marbled look of the wood.

💛🤍🪵Hickory is one of our customer favorites! It is light in color and has a substantial feel. Heart wood refers to the darker area that naturally occurs in hickory, creating beautiful deep amber to brown areas when the wood is turned. This coffee scoop includes a handmade stripe pattern, tapered edge, and natural striation in the grain. These details really make this piece one-of-a-kind!

⚒️🫶🏼We get such joy and satisfaction out of seeing how each piece of wood we use turns out once carved. You never know what it will look like and it is always so exciting to see the result!
