Deputies will now be patrolling the city wearing body-worn cameras. Villa Park is part of a department-wide program to equip all field personnel with body-worn cameras to increase transparency and give the community we serve an important perspective of our work. Full program implementation is expected by the end of the year.
In addition to body-worn cameras, Sheriff’s Department patrol units also will be getting an upgrade to their in-car camera systems to record in high-definition. Although we’ve used in-car cameras for more than three decades, we are excited for these new tools and the additional insight they will provide.
We know can sometimes be funny and cute but lately we have seen an unsafe trend from here in Orange County. Adolescents have been using water orbeez around town in an unsafe manner which can potentially endanger others.
Parents: if you purchase water orbeez for your child make sure they use them safely, responsibly, and do not alter them. Orbeez come in bright colors to signify they are not weapons. When they are altered, they have the potential to resemble weapons. These water orbeez are NOT 🚫permitted on school grounds for any reason.
