“We may never understand what God is up to this side of heaven, but we will never face our fears, struggles, and difficult decisions alone.”
We might not always grasp what God has in store for us in this life, but we can take heart knowing that we never have to face our fears, struggles, or tough choices alone. As we wrap up our ‘Living the Good Life series’, let’s embrace the supper and love that surrounds us. Together, we can negative any challenge that comes our way.
What a powerful Reformation Sunday! 🙌🏻
Yesterday, we were blessed to hear from Mike Ziegler, who reminded us of our identity in Christ through Galatians 4:3-5.
It explains that before knowing Christ, people were like children under the law, bound to its rules. But God sent His Son, Jesus, born of a woman and under the law, to redeem those who were under the law. Through this redemption, we become God’s adopted children, enjoying the full rights and privileges that come with that relationship.

Proverbs 15:1 states, “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” This verse highlights the power of our words and the impact they can have on interpersonal relationships. It suggests that responding to conflict or anger with kindness and calmness can diffuse a tense situation, fostering understanding rather than escalating hostility. Conversely, harsh or aggressive language can provoke further anger and conflict, creating a cycle of negativity. Overall, the verse encourages thoughtful communication and emphasizes the importance of maintaining a gentle demeanor, especially in difficult conversations.
Proverbs 19:20 emphasizes the importance of listening to advice and accepting instruction. By being open to wisdom, correction, and learning from others, we grow in understanding and make better decisions. The verse teaches that this practice leads to wisdom in the long run, helping us to live a more fulfilling and successful life.
Proverbs 16:1, which states, “To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the proper answer,” highlights the interplay between human intention and divine influence. It acknowledges that while we have the capacity to make plans and set goals, the ultimate outcomes are guided by a higher power. This verse reminds us that our aspirations are important, but they should be approached with humility and openness to change. It emphasizes that while we may have our own ideas about what we want, true wisdom comes from seeking guidance beyond ourselves. In this way, it encourages us to trust in the journey and remain receptive to the possibilities that life may present, knowing that a greater purpose often shapes our paths in unexpected ways.
“Christ is not here to walk the road FOR us, but to walk the road WITH us.”
This week, in Week 5 of our Living the Good Life series, we explore Proverbs 16:1: “To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the proper answer.” This verse beautifully reminds us that as we make our plans, Christ walks alongside us, guiding our steps.

“It’s not that we’re supposed to just rely on faith in Jesus when we give: the key is love”.
Giving isn’t just about faith, it’s about love. In week 2 of our ‘Living the Good Life’ series, we’re diving into how true generosity comes from a heart of love, not just obligation or duty. Let’s be a community that gives because we love—just as Jesus loves us.
Proverbs 19:23 teaches that a deep reverence for the Lord leads to a life of peace, security, and true contentment. It’s a reminder that when we trust in God’s wisdom and walk in His ways, we are protected from the troubles of the world and can rest in the fullness of His love.
“It is hard to rest content in a world that is constantly changing.”
That’s why we’re excited to start our fall series, ‘Living the Good Life,’ where we’ll dive into the timeless wisdom of Proverbs. Join us as we explore how to find peace and purpose in the midst of life’s uncertainties.
Together, we’ll explore what it means to live the good life through God’s guidance as we uncover His endless wisdom! You can also join us between services in Teaching Church | 9:45am; where our Pastors and teachers will be digging a bit deeper into the “Living the Good Life” study in the book of Proverbs.
We can’t wait to dive into the Book of Proverbs with you all this Sunday!

“The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life. Yet there are some of you who do not believe.”
- John 6:63-64
This weekend we know that Jesus acknowledges that not everyone in His audience believes, and He knows who will betray Him. Jesus reiterates that coming to Him is only possible if enabled by the Father, highlighting the necessity of divine intervention in faith and belief.
We had a wonderful time praying over the new and returning teachers this past Sunday, celebrating baptisms, and sharing in the excitement as the children prepare to step into their new grades this Tuesday for the first day of school at St. John’s!
Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed” - John 20:29
We talked about the story where Jesus appeared to the disciples the first time, in the book of John 20. It’s easy to be forgetful, we have the worries of the world around us, but the desires of the world around us.
We look forwarding to seeing you next weekend as we close out our “Summer of Truth” series plus we have a dedication to welcome our new and returning teachers, it’s a weekend you don’t want to miss!
