Happy International Women's Day! We are looking forward to hosting you at our Annual International Women's Day Panel tomorrow (3/9) at 5:30pm at the Hilbert Museum.

Please meet our final panelist. Karen Flanigan maintains 25 years of experience in the field of commercial real estate management. She commenced her career with 1997, working in firms over the years such as Birtcher Real Estate Group, Signature Services, and Irvine Company, in the property management of several office, industrial and retail properties located throughout Southern California.

Karen joined Greenlaw in 2006, as an Asset Manager on the Greenlaw team. Currently, as Executive Vice President of Greenlaw, Karen oversees the Property Management and Operations of a portfolio, comprised of over ten million RSF of Class A office high-rise, varying classes of mid-rise office and low-rise campus office, industrial, and mixed use assets, primarily positioned throughout Orange, Los Angeles, and Inland Empire counties. She directly leads the in-house Property Management Team, and has oversight of the Property Accounting Team, with a comprehensive group of over 40 Greenlaw team members. She has an active role on the firm’s Executive team, participating in annual, strategic planning and goal setting, as well as in the development of employee initiatives, company culture enrichment measures, and corporate communication.

Karen holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Human Development, with an emphasis on Education, from California State University, Fullerton. She remains highly active within the Orange County Commercial Management industry, and served as Chair of College Outreach for CREW (Commercial Real Estate for Women) Orange County in 2014, followed by President for the CREW OC Chapter in 2017. Additionally Karen served on the Board for BOMA (Building Owners Managers Association) Orange County for three years, holding the role of President of the Chapter in 2020.

Meet our next panelist, Regan Stokes. She first entered into the franchising space in 2016 through a career opportunity to join the team of a budding franchisor in the fitness space. While Stokes was primarily working in client services and operations management before that, she became fascinated by the concept of franchising and saw first-hand how the franchisor and franchisee could work together to create the strongest business possible. After starting in a franchise relations role at an emerging fitness franchise, she quickly worked her way up onto the executive leadership team as Chief Operating Officer. In 2019, Stokes joined the Pure Barre team in 2019 as SVP of Operations and worked directly with the President, Sarah Luna, on driving operational efficiencies across the brand right from the start, which included refreshing our studios within a 6 month period and transitioning all studios to our POS software used across all of the Xponential Fitness brands. Now, as the president of Pure Barre, a boutique fitness concept with over 600 locations, Stokes is responsible for building a business model and support system that allows entrepreneurs to achieve their dreams of business ownership.

Dr. Josephine Nakhla brings over a decade of strategic marketing, business and innovation strategy, project and process management, and consulting experience from companies such as Kraft Heinz, Merck-Millipore, Honeywell and Sensient Technologies. Dr. Nakhla has been with Kraft Heinz for five years, currently serving as Kraft Heinz Ingredients Head of Marketing. She has lead successful campaigns and project launches and navigates the complex niche environment of work at the intersection of science and business. Her leadership style emphasizes strong supportive and participatory environments and creating mutual trust amongst teams she builds while maximizing results. She earned her undergraduate degree from Smith College (2003), her PhD from University of Michigan Ann Arbor (2008) and her MBA from Marquette (2013).

Had a great time at the Tailgate Extravaganza during Chapman University’s 160th Anniversary Homecoming!

We’re excited to CU all at homecoming today! The tailgate party is from 3-6:30pm, outdoors at the Atallah Piazza (between the library and Beckman Hall) and the football game starts at 7pm. We’ll have a section in the stadium for Argyros students and alumni. (Serena has extra tickets available for the game.)

Find the registration table when you arrive so you can check in and get a wrist band for the 2 FREE drink tickets. For Argyros grad students and grad alumni – we’ll also have some refreshments and drinks in the Grad Office BK 301.

Join us for a fun, outdoor evening with live music and great friends on Friday, October 8th at 5:30 pm!
