What separates a good lash artist and a bad lash artist?
I’ll tell you. ⤵️

Protecting the integrity of the NL vs. doing whatever the client wants, to get paid.

Slapping on some lashes and collecting $ doesn’t qualify you as a good artist. This actually makes the rest of us look bad. Taking your time to ask your client questions, looking at their eye and face shape, giving them lashes that compliment them AND keeping that NL healthy. That’s what makes you a good Lash Artist.

ITS MAGIC and I’m hooked.

This is going to be the realest post I’ve ever made so I’m going to try and word it delicately.

There are going to be some days going forward that I am going to tell you (clients) that I will be putting my headphones on. This isn’t because I don’t want to talk to you or don’t care about how things are going. It’s simply because my emotional & social battery is low.

As Lash Artists we wear many hats. My most common hat is therapist. I love that you guys are comfortable with me and trust me with your stories and life events. But here is the truth of the matter. I am not a therapist. I have so much life experience with my own traumas that I can relate to almost all of you. But I don’t have the training to be able to not take this home with me. I don’t have the tools to give you & your traumas become mine and it weighs on me.

I see 25-30 clients per week. That’s 25-30 conversations. 25-30 hours of talking. 25-30 different stories I hear. As much as I cherish our conversations and don’t want them to stop, some days I will need to take some time to focus on what my actual job with you is, to give you amazing lashes.

That being said. I am ALWAYS here for anyone. That will never stop. This is simply me being aware of my own mental state and taking care of myself as well.

I love you all & thank you for always trusting me with your lashes along with your life stories. ❤️

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. I’ll forever be humble because I’ll forever be grateful. You guys will ALWAYS get the most authentic version of me. I don’t care if I make $1 or $100,000. I will always be overwhelmed with gratitude that you guys chose ME to do your lashes, to buy tweezers from or take a course. This is why I will never call anyone out for being late, rescheduling or cancelling an appointment. You’re giving me your time and for that I’m thankful. What we do is a luxury service and it’s a choice. No one owes us anything. I put all my clients on a pedestal because I came from the bottom and I know that it’s because of them and my hard work that I’m going to the top. I wouldn’t be anywhere without y’all and I want you to know that I appreciate each and every one of you.

Two things I like to ask myself before making a decision or having a reaction. Does it bring me peace? Does it bring me money?
If the answer is no to either of those then I reevaluate and make sure it’s really worth it before I decide.

By doing this you will:
Avoid confrontations/ unnecessary drama
Save more money
Have less “things”
More motivation to direct your focus elsewhere

Next time you find yourself in a situation where you have to make a big decision, try asking yourself these two things.
