Our Story

Welcome to Stone Barn Co.! I am so excited to start this new chapter in my life & begin doing what I love. I have been wanting to open an Etsy shop for the past few years now, and I am finally pursuing that dream. Coming up with a store name was not easy, but I finally came to the conclusion that "Stone Barn" would be perfect. There is a little history behind Stone Barn Company. My paternal grandfather has been a farm manager for most of his life. He always wanted to have a farm of his own, but with the high cost of running a farm, he realized it would be more practical for him to manage farms instead. In 1976, he had the opportunity to purchase his own farm ground. His farm is located on Stone Barn Rd in Oregon, IL. As a young girl I spent some time on that farm with my grandparents and cousins doing various activities from gardening to having picnics. Now that I am older, I cherish those memories beyond measure. The farm became a very special place in my heart. As I was brainstorming ideas for this business, I realized that I needed to allow my customers to connect with the business on a more personal level. The more I thought about shop names, the more I wanted to include the farm in some way. I then realized that Stone Barn would not only allow me to tell my story and my memories on the farm, but it also encompasses the style of products offered by Stone Barn Co., modern & rustic farmhouse decor.
