Great day of training at the USA Judo Regional Training Camp, hosted by the Budokan Judo Club in Hialeah. The guest instructor was Robert Eriksson, the head coach of the new Performance Center at UNC Charlotte. Today it was Sensei Doug, Alex, Joe, & Andres representing USA Judo. It was great to see old friends like Sensei Evelio Garcia and Sensei Gerry Navarro, as well as many other of our Florida Judo brothers and sisters. Thanks again to everyone who made this event possible, and to USA Judo for scheduling these valuable training camps.

Here is our trailer for our new Instructional video series...we are starting with Tai Otoshi, and each video will feature either MOJ instructors demonstrating the technique, or former visiting and guest instructors demonstrating. This includes Judoka from Japan, Korea, Europe, Canada, & South America. Very soon we will post our first complete video here and on our YouTube channel. Stay tuned!

Only 9 people today, but still a great Saturday training! John is really coming along, and our newest student Allan is doing fantastic! And of course Joe continues to be a terror in both Judo and BJJ class...your the man Joey! Alex's gripping and movement continue to improve, and Walter is getting his groove back And Fran, Ramiro, and Malena continue to grow in their Judo ability, and will soon be as strong in Judo as they are in the BJJ...which they are all exceptional! Let's get those lazy members who haven't been showing up lately to come back to the mats, and let's all work to get some new students join us in our great training!

For those new to MOJ, Sensei Haraguchi is not only the father of Takahide and Naoya, but also a former 2-time All Japan Champion, a World Championship Bronze Medalist, and Kodokan High Dan Rank Tournament Gold Medalist. Sensei Haraguchi was particularly known for his Yoko Tomoenage and his Juji Gatame. Again, Happy Birthday Sensei!!

Today was MOJ's first day at the US Open Judo Championships, here in Orlando. Dylan was our only competitor today. Previously Dylan took a Bronze medal in 2019 at the Open. This year he didn't do quite as well, but he had a very large and competitive bracket, and most importantly, he hasn't practiced Judo in 2 years, and only came back to train over the last 4 weeks. Even in his losses he showed great spirit and fighting spirit. We are all so Proud of Dylan! Special thanks goes out to those who came to support their club and teammate: Stephen, Tiago, Sofia, Walter, Joe, Ryneek, and Jenny...Good team spirit guys!!!! And it was great to see many of our Judo friends from the past, like many time national champion Tonka Cruz. Looking forward to tomorrow when Walter competes. But please, everyone take care...we are still dealing with the delta strain of the Covid virus...let's enjoy but not be careless!

So a big congratulations goes out to our BJJ competitors who take our Judo class: Ramiro, Francesco, and Melana. They have the greatest attitude and spirit....and our great training partners for our other Judo students. Kudos to Professor Pat Cooligan of Team Renzo Gracie Orlando for bringing up such fantastic competitors and such fine people. Take a look at Ramiro and Francesco doing practicing a combination that they only just learned a week ago on their own time...that spirit is why they are such fantastic & successful BJJ competitors! Keep it up guys, we will all get better together!!!!

For our new beginning students, here is a quick video on how to do uchikomi for Ippon Seoinage as demonstrated by our former visiting instructor from Japan's Tokai University Judo, Sensei Naoya Haraguchi.
