The Harvey Averne Dozen album was released in 1969 on Fania Records. It was the second album for The Harvey Averne Dozen band, which included Latin soul, Latin funk and boogaloo sounds, produced by Harvey Averne and arranged by Marty Sheller. The opening track “Never Learned To Dance” is a Latin soul song with disco influences that the cover notes state is Harvey’s favorite on the album. Other standout tracks include “Lullaby from Rosemary’s Baby” which was sampled by rapper Big Daddy Kane in 1993 on the track “Rest In Peace” and “I Feel Fine” which is a Beatles cover sampled by Tom Caruana in his 2010 remix album Enter the Magical Mystery Chambers in which he uses Wu-Tang vocals to Beatles songs. Craft Latino is releasing a digital remaster and is making it available in HD audio for the first time (format: 192/24) today.
