Tonight's the night!!

Athena has an aerial performance at the Circus School coming up next Friday, but she was just asked to perform in Orlando at the Kids Fringe Festival at the end of the month!!! She is making incredible progress, I am so proud of her!

Circus School days. 💜 Her first performance is May 20th at 7pm. It's coming up fast!

Teeth holds...he could do them for like 30+ seconds. So badass.

Teaching the kiddo to slackline a couple years ago. I need to get it set back up. It's like 7ft off the ground right now, too high to actually use.

UPDATE: They gave me a standing ovation and my outfit sold for $2000!!!

Sneak peak of my outfit for tonight. This is Carl's Ringmaster jacket that he was going to modify and wear to our wedding reception this past December. The bra, gauntlets, and parasol that I've designed/modified will be auctioned off on the runway as a fundraiser for Greater Clermont Cancer Foundation, in memory of and in tribute to Carl and his parents. After Covid started and Carl had over 100 sideshow performances cancel, he jumped on Outschool (and zoom for private classes) and taught magic tricks and also the history of magic to WELL over 100 children! He even somehow talked them into letting him teach kids how to pick locks and escape from handcuffs! He was genuinely amazing with all of his students and they loved him.

This page...Savage Family Circus was originally started by Carl so that there would be a place (with less inappropriateness than his other social media pages) that his students and their parents could follow.

However, the long term Savage Family Circus goal was for us to have a traveling tented circus, with Sid Savage as the Ringmaster. Carl had some physical health issues that would have prevented him from continuing sleight of hand magic as well as some of his sideshow stunts within the next decade, or possibly less, and were already starting to affect him at times. He was trying to plan for growth and for a future where he could still perform and write shows in a way that would be unaffected. We had spent HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS talking about our circus and even searching for equipment and a tent maker for a custom tent. So many of the ideas that Carl had were things not currently being done by any other circus that we could find. I only wish this was something that we'd have been able to continue to do as a family. Carl and I spent months working on multiple acts that we could do together, because he wanted me on stage with him someday...by his side as a partner, not just an assistant. So many plans that now will never happen, or will go on without the mastermind behind them to see the end game.
But he did leave a legacy even if it isn't all he wanted to do, and so many kids will carry on with a LOVE of magic that he helped instill in them. I hope that I can see the fruition of some of that someday. You never know!
