Great day on the course yesterday raising money at the Lou Frey Memorial Golf Tournament, named in honor of a special friend of NCS and a dedicated friend to the MS&T community, Congressman Lou Frey. Good fun, superb weather, open hearts, and some amazing (and not so amazing) golf! However, it's all for two awesome causes: funds benefit the Lou Frey Institute at UCF for civics education/programs and the NCS STEM scholarship funds. Here are a few highlights from the day -- look for more pictures soon. Marcia Bexley Brian Holmes

In October 2017 the television program Real Life 101 featured NCS and the Simulation Industry in Florida on one of their episodes. Take a look at the video below where NCS President & CEO Lt Gen (Ret) Tom Baptiste talks about NCS, the Simulation Industry and career opportunities for young people willing to pursue a STEM degree.

The Florida Cabinet approved the $19.1 million purchase of the 123,391 SF Resource Square II office building by the University of Central Florida. This effort culminates a 4 year effort by the Metro Orlando Defense Task Force (MODTF) to move all Team Orlando military Modeling, Simulation and Training (MS&T) staff out of leased commercial office space. The MODTF was formed in 2012 by key Central Florida community stakeholders to protect, preserve and grow the area's MS&T business from future military Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) actions. Team Orlando was at risk due to high real estate occupancy costs. This Cabinet approval will allow UCF to close on the property and begin the process of moving military personnel into the building. This purchase was funded by a series of appropriations in the 2013-2015 state legislative sessions totaling $42 million. UCF acquired the 83,000 SF SAIC building in February 2016 as the first step in meeting the objective of acquiring 200,000 SF of office space. This latest acquisition will bring the total acquired office space to just over 207,000 SF. The remainder of the appropriated funds are budgeted for buildout and security enhancements. The MODTF is a terrific example of what can be accomplished when key organizations from a community come together and collaborate on an important goal. The task force was chaired by NCS, who received tremendous financial, leadership and staff support from its partners: Orlando Economic Partnership University of Central Florida Florida High Tech Corridor Council Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs City of Orlando - Government Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer Central Florida Research Park This video shows NCS President and CEO Thomas L. Baptiste presentation at yesterday's meeting of the Florida Cabinet. The purchase was approved immediately after the presentation!
