Happy Veterans Day -- Honoring all who served!

NCS was happy to organize this trip to DC with leaders from the MS&T industry for our inaugural NCS Capitol Hill Connection at the end of October, including Orlando Economic Partnership's Casey Evans. Part of our mission is to work collaboratively with our partners to ensure our representatives from Florida and beyond know that Orlando is the world's epicenter for modeling and simulation!

The National Center for Simulation board of directors has a new member, Dr. Haifa Maamar, executive director of emerging technologies at Full Sail University. She joins returning board members John Givens, CEO of VirTra and Mary Trier, president and CEO of Capital Communications & Consulting. Read more.

Members from the NCS board of directors and other modeling, simulation and training leaders, led by NCS CEO George Cheros and UCF SMST director, Grace Bochenek, PhD, traveled to Washington, D.C. this week to visit with representatives on Capitol Hill to talk about the critical role of simulation. The Central Florida delegation also had the opportunity to meet with the Department of Homeland Security Under Secretary for Science and Technology, Dr. Dimitri Kusnezov; U.S. Space Force director for Analysis, Chief Technology & Innovation Office, Dr. Gerald \(Jerry\) Diaz and executive director for the Emerging Technologies Institute, Dr. Arun Seraphin.

Busy first day at this year's Association of the United States Army - AUSA National Annual Meeting & Exposition. NCS CEO George Cheros had the chance to catch up with Hall of Fame member, Jimmy Shiflett, Leidos, and former PM TRASYS Col. Lou Lara, who heads up business development, land systems domain at Saab.

Thanks to Orlando Economic Partnership Government Affairs and Semiconductor team members for inviting our President & CEO George Cheros to accompany the delegation to advocacy meetings in Washington, D.C. earlier this week. The agenda was focused on gaining bipartisan support for our U.S. Economic Development Administration Tech Hub designation proposal to make NeoCity in Osceola County a global hub for semiconductor advanced packaging positioning our region at the forefront of this cluster. As with almost everything we do now, modeling and simulation technology is a key technology component of semiconductor design and manufacturing capabilities.

2023 Florida Simulation Summit-Digital Transformation and Airport of the Future | May 10. 2023

This year's "Digital Transformation and the Airport of the Future" summit featured experts from a host of companies and organizations, all who are leading the way developing and using digital technologies. With a career that included both World Wars, De Florez was an early pioneer in flight training simulation & advocated for the use “synthetic training devices” to increase the Navy’s readiness.
