Is your AC having a hard time keeping your house in the 70s?

When Summer temperatures are hovering near 100 degrees, your air conditioning has to work overtime. But just because your home no longer feels like an ice box, it doesn't necessarily mean your AC isn't doing its job.

Remember this rule of thumb: residential air conditioning is designed to cool about 20 degrees lower than the outside temps. So, once it's starts dipping from the high 90s outside, it's much easier to cool into the 70s inside.

Buckle up folks and stay hydrated. It’s gonna be an absolute scorcher.

Also remember that if your house isn’t maintaining that 72 degree coolness you like, there’s a reason….

AC systems are designed to accommodate up to a 20 degree difference between the outside air and inside.

So if your thermostat suddenly won’t get your house under 75, give it some time once the sun starts to fade. If it won’t go below 85, you might want to call for a check.
