Form 990 series filing deadline for calendar year organizations is due today.



Form 990, 990-EZ, Form 990-N, or 990-PF must be filed by the 15th day of the 5th month after the end of your organization's accounting period. For a calendar year taxpayer, Form 990, 990-EZ, Form 990-N, or 990-PF is due May 15 of the following year.



Tax-exempt organizations that need additional time to file beyond the May 15 deadline can request a 6-month automatic extension by filing Form 8868, Application for Extension of Time To File an Exempt Organization Return. In situations where tax is due, extending the time for filing a return does not extend the time for paying tax. The IRS encourages organizations requesting an extension to electronically file Form 8868.

If you recently purchased a home, please check warranty paperwork on major systems.

Some manufacturer's warranties such as HVAC 10 year warranties with some companies MUST be transferred within 90 days of closing, sometimes for a nominal fee.

Failure to do so will mean you have no warranty on that appliance.

Naturalization interview, successful: This is a personal record. We filed for a client's N400 on September 15, 2023, and today she passed her Immigration Interview.

Things seem to be moving faster with USCIS. However, understand that every case is different and this does not mean your case will go as fast.

Just got a question from a realtor: "We had a closing coming up next week, and the lender just called and said the Seller died over the weekend, no wife, no kids, no will, no instructions." Unfortunately, situations like this happen. The only way to avoid the situation is to have an Estate Plan. Now, a relative has to show up to probate the Estate, the deal is done, the person that passed away has no say in who gets what-- it will pass by Florida statute. If no one shows up, it will escheat to the state after 5 years. The real estate deal is dead and the person that passed lost control over who gets their legacy... Don't let this happen to you or your loved ones. Get an estate plan as soon as possible.

Juneteenth is the celebration of the end of slavery. A very important moment in history.

We must always fight against all forms of oppression and mental and physical slavery. We must remember the effects of slavery in America on generations have still not been remedied and must be addressed until all is balanced again.

Attorney Abdelrahman Zeini is currently on medical leave (likely until at least the end of June), and is not taking new cases. Whenever you create a Trust or a new entity (LLC, Corporation, etc) these companies try to take advantage of selling you something that you don't need and that you can get for free if you ever needed it, or for a 10-20 dollar fee from the recording/appraiser's office. We get calls all the time after creating trusts and companies asking if these letters are official because they do look like it.

I have highlighted the red flags. If you suspect something double check with a professional.
