Road Trip Routines: New England Bound!
Heading north for another awesome event in Boston, this time at a stunning hilltop venue overlooking a valley. As I cruise up I-95, there are three things I always look forward to:
D.C. Delights: Depending on the time, I might catch the monuments lit up at night. Sometimes, we even stop for a museum visit (last summer there was a scooter adventure with Maddox?). Bonus points if my cousin Mindy McWilliams from Georgetown?) is free for a random weeknight catch-up!
Tunnel Time: While not as spooky as some mountain tunnels, the long, white-walled Baltimore tunnel on I-95 is a unique experience. It can get a little nerve-wracking when towing a trailer, but hey, avoiding a tunnel pileup is a badge of honor, right?
NYC Skyscraper Sights: For about twenty minutes, the highway runs parallel to New York City, offering a glimpse of sprawling neighborhoods, factories, and the infrastructure that surrounds the iconic skyscrapers. This is my "Empire State of Mind" moment (repeat button on, Alicia Keys!), marking the final leg of the drive before hitting New Jersey.
Then comes Connecticut, and the realization that hours still remain. Every single time! "Why doesn't NYC feel closer to Boston?" I wonder.
Thanks for joining this peek into my unique travel routine. It's definitely tiring, but also a total blast, and I wouldn't trade it for anything! Here's to another epic New England adventure, I'll post as I get close and set up for Vintage Bazaar New England

Hello from day two of setting up for !
I forgot my hat today (and it was a scorcher!) so was thrilled to find one in BXB ‘s gorgeous booth. If you’ve not yet discovered her fabulous finds, you’re missing out!
During the hunt for a hat I happened to spy this fantastic necklace made by ; the top half is a French franc and the bottom an English shilling. I. AM. IN. LOVE!! This booth has it all — handmade jewelry, fantastic clothing and a creator who is just as lovely as she is talented.
I hope you’ll come say hi this weekend — there is SO much talent on the field this year!
“ Beaux Studios founder, Cherrah' Johnson creates standout pieces of handcrafted jewelry using semi-precious stones, leather, pearls & other precious findings.
Each piece has a mix of rough & finished elements.
A nod to how we are all inherently unfinished & also perfectly complete.

Perfect & Imperfect.
Paired with a curated line of limited edition bohemian clothing,
we inspire you with timeless feminine clothing that you'll return to season

Featuring design elements like pintucks, crochet, ruffling, linen.
Highlighting handcrafted and one of a kind elements.
All of our jewelry is handcrafted in our Florida studio & available though our website, seasonal fine art markets & select retailers.
Cherrah' travels to markets in the Beaux Rider, a bohemian styled (renovated ) Class C RV that doubles as a traveling work studio for weekends away. Follow along our social media as we try to use the space creatively.
Beaux Studios jewelry is designed and created , in totality, in our bright sunny studio. Any clothing or manufactured goods we curate and sell at our markets or stores, is done so with 100% certainty of it's origin, the labor under which it was produced, and the materials it is made from. That is, I "check receipts". Having spent nearly two decades in global Advertising product development and sourcing, I understand exactly how to vet manufacturing and when possible, use designers who are also small studios, led by solo designers and making their goods. I believe in the energy our textiles and jewelry hold & choose in every operational choice, to honor the labor & spirit of the artists we work with. Including the ethics & way we conduct our personal business, our vibrant studio space and the guests who spend their time with us.

Setting up at The pro.found market today & here’s some ‘before’ shots
If I can geek out a little, I’ll share that I’ve loved the creative challenge of making this process as efficient and versatile for myself as possible.
Being an artist is supposed to be fun and the logistics part can be an executive functioning nighmare for creative types. However, even though it’s time consuming, it is a total dopamine hit to take all these unrelated pieces and put them together in different configurations every time.
All the elements have hooks so they work together & I adjust based on what I am selling. I experience it just like playing with legos used to feel - you just figure it out as you go along.
If I have lots of clothing, I use more racks and roll up the extra pieces so they take up less space but are available in lots of sizes and shoppers just grab what they need. It works for these casual outdoor markets.
Visit www.BeauxStudios.com to shop — and I’ll post as this little part of the field starts to come together as a boutique today.

in our studio
Becoming hyper organized in my studio has led to hyper productivity. Which feels like a game to me and the only way I can stay focused to work 🙂
Amongst thousands of gems and stones in the studio, a room of organized drawers with bar codes now keeps me moving along.
Getting organized freed up more mental space to enjoy the creative part & the spectacular low tech process of cutting silver, twisting leather, & using my fingertips and eyes to create beauty 😉. Thanks for following along 🙂
Just when I think my Polka Dot dress and Denim jacket are so unique! Spotted two other women in Trader Joe’s with me in the same outfit, at the same time 🙂.
Living in a place as busy as Orlando, it can feel like everything is MAXIMAL !
Right now, our EPIC theme parks & beaches are full of Spring Breakers & people from all over the globe 🙂
( my college freshman son is one of them , enjoying the Florida beaches with wall to wall college kids & describing it to me so I can remember how much fun it was to grow up at the beach in SW Florida).
At nearby Ft. Myers Beach & Sanibel, we got to be part of that fun every weekend in the Spring. as a local high school kid trying to be cool among thecollege kids.
This weekend, we enjoyed this perfect Florida Winter weather at the Windermere Fine Art Festival, along the charming historic Main Street.
Thank you to all who said hello and I was so excited to see several people wearing things they’d bought from stores carrying Beaux in other states , far away from our home in Florida! ( from CA, Vermont, NY!)
Ad, so many of you who shopped our store in Winter Garden, Adjectives Market!
Thank you!
For my Jacksonville & St. Mary’s followers -
We have received many calls about the inclement weather predicted for the Girls Gone Pickin' & Friends Spring in St. Marys Pop-Up this coming Saturday. We are closely monitoring the situation and are in contact with all our vendors to make a possible date change. We will make that announcement first thing THURSDAY morning as to any alternative plan! So, please stay tuned!!!
My hands have been so busy bringing new ideas to life and I’ll be close to home this month - come see Beaux Studios and my new booth and fun displays!
I’ve never met a door I couldn’t find a place for … and I have ten different ladders in my stash of displays, each with a different story and purpose.
Here’s one that I attached with hinges to my rolling door display. Painted in the Amsterdam Green I love, this display can be staged on both sides or tucked against a wall like it is in this shop.
