This Sunday, February 18, we hope you’ll join us in celebrating Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day at your local from 9am - 2pm.
February 18th has become an annual international childhood cancer awareness event. Each year the celebration has grown; increasing support for those fighting, celebrating the survivors and remembering the children we have lost.
Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day was created by Malia Grace’s mom and aunt in 2013 in honor of her memory after Malia Grace passed away from cancer in 2010. She loved ice cream and her family wanted to commemorate her birthday in a way that would be fitting for Malia Grace. During her wish trip at Give Kids the World, Malia Grace had the opportunity to Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast and it was a highlight of her family’s experience.
Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream will donate 50% of their ice cream sales to Orlando Health’s Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. Their goal is to raise $10,000 - and Dr. Phillips Charities has agreed to match this!

Shout out to our friends and to for recognizing this true S**o gem in their article, “The 30 Black-owned restaurants in Orlando everyone should know about.”
If you haven’t tried Sister Honey’s, now is the time! From amazing pies to the best coconut cake we’ve ever had—every visit to Sister Honey’s is a treasure.
A bit of history about how Sister Honey’s got their name: Owner and award-winning baker, Evette Rahman, says that she learned so much from her mother about food as well as life in general. “Everyday I honor my mother, Sister Honey, by continuing the legacy of great baking.”
Miss Evette’s mother was affectionately given the nickname ‘Honey’ by her family when she was a small child due to her sweet demeanor. As a young adult she became known as ‘Sister Honey’ among her church brethren. Later in life, she became a woman who spoke eloquently with an infectious smile. Her warmth would radiate when she greeted folks with, “Hello, my darling. How are you?” This was the same loving care that she put into everything she baked for her family, friends, and community. She passed on the love of cooking and baking to her eldest daughter, Evette.
We hope you’ll stop by soon to say hello to Evette and her husband, Andy, to enjoy their wonderful goods and welcoming spirit.
