Maternal Matters Favored Grand Opening!
We are pleased to announce that on Saturday, June 8th we had our grand opening ceremony. We are grateful to those who traveled from near and far to take part in this momentous occasion. It was a beautiful day of community support and celebration. We especially thank Councilwoman Pontieri, the African American Cultural Society, and the Flagler County Dept of Health for being in attendance. We are beyond elated to have physical office space and home address as we move into the summer months.

June Means Father's Day & Men's Mental Health Month
June is a great time to raise awareness on men's mental health issues as we celebrate Father's Day and mark Men's Mental Health Month. Men are statistically less likely to seek mental health support due to gender-based shame and stigma. This includes postpartum parenting depression, which fathers do often experience.

As with any gender, male PPD can include difficulty bonding with baby, fatigue, low mood, and changes in sleep or appetite. Many men, however, may not cry or express this distress outwardly, making it harder to see.

So, what can we do to help? Check in on the fathers in your life this month. Provide a listening ear and let them know you care. Ask how they are and really listen- because many men will not volunteer that they're struggling unless asked.

Summer can be a stressful time for many parents, especially as the school year ends and some families look ahead to its return. I am not going to sugar-coat this post. This past week was truly so emotional for me, I don't know where to start. I share the following information to brag on God and to remind you of what Bigmama-and-dem taught you... HOLD ON TO GOD'S UNCHANGING HAND!
THROUGH IT ALL, I'VE LEARNED TO TRUST IN JESUS, I'VE LEARNED TO TRUST IN GOD!

My Morning Glory.
Father, I thank you for the following blessings in my life!

1. When I needed to find a divorce attorney, I called the wisest woman I know to ask her opinion. Donna M. Gray-Banks referred me to Attorney Raven Sword. Yesterday, in divorce court, I marveled as I watched God run that courtroom, through the expertise of my attorney. God handled it all! https://www.livingston-sword.com/raven-e-sword-esquire/3837024

2. Talk about Angels covering you when you are in crisis! Not only did Chris Swansburg drive me to the Daytona Beach courthouse, round trip from Jacksonville, but he allowed me to rest and sleep while he navigated rush-hour traffic!

3. Angelyn Swansburg joined us on the trip, wearing a dress that looked like she was ready for a battle! She packed our "road trip snacks" and made sure we left the house on-time for my 9 am court appearance. What is significant about this is that the Swansburgs took their day off work to be with me, when they could have spent it together, and I thank them both!

4. As my attorney was preparing me for court this week; as the phone calls and emails were filling my days and stressing my nights, God orchestrated for Mornings with Da Queen Bee - DA SHOW! to become syndicated. On May 1st we join the New Life International Radio lineup with Demetrics Scott in the 8 am - 10 am EST timeslot. This weekend, we are are also reviewing agreements for a third U.S. radio station as well. God... I see you enlarging our territory with the ministry of music!

5. Again, I thank Roy Mitchell Eavins II for granting me my first radio show back in 2006. The JBN - Jericho Broadcast Networks has been my broadcast home, and will continue to be that until God says otherwise (or until Roy kicks me off the station) LOL!! , and music has always been my music ministry format... just ask

6. In the midst of this emotional week, I received a new mental health diagnosis and upcoming surgical scheduling for a right knee-replacement revision. Eric Simmons Jr. called me, calmed me, gave me a virtual AND an in-person hug and treated me to be pampered session to rest my mind. He even allowed me to borrow his wife for a night and a day. God... I don't deserve this earthly love you provide me, through my daughters and their husbands! THANK YOU!!!

7. My daddy and Jimella Bennett called me this week... in the midst of chaos with last minute court details. Nobody in the family died. Everybody was feeling fine. My daddy just called me and invited me to go on the family cruise with them, in March 2025. He just cracked jokes with me, talked about the church and loved on me, over the phone. I LOVE MY PARENTS!!

8. Now, back to the Angels on Earth. My Pastor called me a few times this week, and I am grateful. The last time she called, she told me she needed to travel tomorrow and was concerned about who was going to preach tomorrow. She said "I know you have a big day on Friday (yesterday), and I wasn't sure if you would be up to it".

Then I remembered 2 Timothy 4: 2-5 New International Version:

verse (2) - Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction and
verse (5) - But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.

Thank you Pastor Mary Hope for placing me on assignment tomorrow at 2:30 pm. I will be ready with a word from the Lord!

Thank YOU Reverend Dawn Martin for inviting me to virtually speak with your classroom via ZOOM on Wednesday. You just don't know how much that means to me, to be able to share the Youth Entrepreneur Author Program - YEAP and more with them.

Thank you God for keeping my mind focused on YOU! Through all of this mess this week, I still had homework and a thesis to prepare for my Masters Degree from Deeper Bible College. Today I received the message that my thesis is NOW DUE! $50 pages are NOW DUE! I thought "Jesus, have I made any progress?" I opened the file that I had been working on, counted the pages and I see there are 33 of the 50 pages complete. How did I write 33 pages and not even realize?

9. Not only did I hear from Theresa Jordan as she prayed for me this week, but I also received encouragement from Alexa Soto Gwendolyn Carter Thomas and Chaconna Downs. Prayers came from Clarence C-dub Williams and Tamara Mackroy. I heard from my Godson Adam Holt Latiska Powell and Keiana Long Hargrett called to love on me, too! It was as if all the "Prayers of the Righteous" were aligning to strengthen me, and the righteous prevailed!

10. My final blessing this week came from my daughter Jasmine Elyse Simmons She was with me, standing by my side in August 2013 as I entered the courthouse to be married. She was with me yesterday as my marriage officially ended. She even spent the night with me Thursday to cook us dinner.

There came a point while I was on the witness stand, trembling, hurting and mentally exhausted and I looked out at Jasmine, who sat just where I could see her. Her eyes caught mine and she instantly channeled my mother. Mom would always say "Hold your head up! Stand up straight and face the challenge head on". Jasmine rolled and braced her shoulders, raised her chin and began illuminating confidence and grace. I mimicked her posture while the opposing counsel bombarded and berated me with questions. My youngest Angel-on-Earth had my back the entire time.

God...
I have no words for your grace and kindness this week.

Falls are the most common cause of TBIs
According to the U.S. Center for Disease Control, approximately 47 percent of traumatic brain injuries are caused by falls, specifically among young children and adults over 65 years of age.

Other TBI injuries can result from sports injuries (21%), blunt force trauma (15%), car accidents (14%), and violent physical assaults (9%).

- Car accident in October 2022,
- A fall in January 2023,
- Physical assault in Feb 2023.
God kept me through it all!

My morning, afternoon, evening and overnight glory! FATHER, I truly thank you for the following blessings in my life!

1. As a door was closing yesterday, both Chaconna Downs and Malachai Steele had me covered in prayer! How did I know this? They both checked on me at the same time. FATHER, I THANK YOU!
When your and a simultaneously hear from God... you KNOW you are covered!

2. As I enthusiastically woke up this morning, ready for accomplish God's "TO DO" list, I realized my praise outweighed my pain. Yes, the pain in my body remains, but it doesn't scream louder than my praise.

3. Shout out to Deeper Bible College college for extending my scholarship to partially cover my next degree! As I draw closer to completing my master's degree this year, I AM NOW also enrolled in the Doctor of Ministry Degree!

6. I have new goals posted in my line of sight. They address financial, personal and education. I know that Romans 8:28 NIV teaches me "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose". I love God. I am called by Him and that is all that matters.
