Where do we begin! Our O'Marro family lost a great one! Sir John Beno passed, he was a huge part of making the pub what it was. We know he is with his beautiful bride and son. There is for sure some Jack & Water & Lambrusco pouring tonight where ever they are! If you know Beno, you were lucky... Much love to our O'Marro family!

We started this crazy open a business journey at the same time. O'Marro's, Glass Nickel & Electric Lounge! We all celebrated together when we hit 10 years. The pub took this hard journey 2 years ago and tonight we will be celebrating Jon Doemel For Winnebago County Executive & Ann as they take it tonight! Stop down for the shenanigans of Shawn O'Marro but to say good bye to an amazing Oshkosh institution! Shawn will be behind the bar tonight sliging those last few.

Man....thanks for all the love. You all place over $6,000 worth of orders in the first two hours. Wow.... (Yes, that is a pizza hut apron)😁

We made our last batch of dough tonight. We prepped all the things. Now we wait until tomorrow. Our last day....we will open at 4.

We hope to have enough food to last 3-4 hours. We will have the Super Bowl on. We will see how much beer we have. Hopefully, you all like Coors Light.

We hope to see you tomorrow for our great send off. Don't forget, we will have a celebrity bartender....as long as O'Marro shows up.🤣

A heartfelt message from Captain and Madame Z.

First, we want to thank you for all of your support over the years. We have loved every second of our pizza journey. From our Glass Nickel roots at 700 W Murdock, to our current location in the old Rail at 2407 Jackson Street.

We were young, motivated, and excited to open a business in 2004 with the vision to bring great pizza to our beloved home town. We raised our family in our business as you supported us over these past 19 years. We are forever grateful for that. Thank you.

We were able to do amazing things together. Over the years, we have held countless benefits for those in need, raised thousands of pounds of food for the food pantry, hosted blood drives, supported many community events, and groups, as well as 15 fantastic years down at Waterfest. We did this with hundreds of amazing people who worked for us throughout the years. We are extremely grateful for all of it.

We launched a little group called Heroes of Oshkosh to connect neighbors with neighbors to fill needs in the community. We will never forget that first year and all the chaos in organizing sooo many Christmas gifts for families in need.

Then came the Pandemic. We answered the call in so many ways! We rationed toilet paper rolls and donated thousands of comics and food boxes for those in need. We made crazy videos to keep you entertained and tried our best to ensure people were getting what they needed. We provided thousands of gloves and other PPE to our first responders. We wanted to do everything we could to help.

We did our best to navigate the insanity while always looking out for our neighbors. We ran a mock presidential campaign to lighten the political mood. (Captain Z would have been a great president) Then, it became a reality as we wanted to make a bigger difference in our community. Captain Z and Josh Demel set their differences aside, and Jon Doemel ran for local office.

The role was big. The mission was to help local government to be more responsive and active in community outreach. How can government deliver services to people as well as we deliver pizzas?

It has been a wild ride. How could someone run a restaurant and a county at the same time? It made it hard to focus our efforts on the restaurant. We took a long hard look at what to do. In the end, we have decided the time has come to close ZaRonis and focus on the bigger mission, where we can do the most good for the most people.

We want to focus on our new path, the Captain in public service, and the Madame raising 5 beautiful daughters. We have decided as a family that running for re-election in 2025 is the right decision for us. We are not sure what the future holds, but we hope to count on your support when the time comes.

We are just instruments, He writes the music. We will continue to do His will. We will always be Captain and Madame Z.

Thank you all for your support. Thank you for the memories. Our last day will be February 11th. We look forward to serving you for one last Superbowl Sunday.

The Captain and Madame plan to be at ZaRonis on Saturday and Sunday mornings until then. Stop in, say hi, and possibly consider buying one of our hundreds of Funco pops and action figures as a momento.

It has been an absolute pleasure serving this community. This is one of the hardest decisions we have ever had to make. Thank you, and bless you for all of the good we were able to do together.

Note: We are patiently waiting to receive our 2024 Timber Rattlers schedule. With The Fox Club being located at the stadium, we do have to wait to book private events during the summer months until we get that from the MLB.
