While there may be no direct swimming access at testing locations, testing E coli at various access points gives boaters and other water users a better idea of how water quality can vary across our county.

𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀:
- Unconsciousness or inability to awaken
- Slow or shallow breathing or difficulty breathing such as choking sounds or a gurgling/snoring noise from a person who cannot be awakened
- Discolored skin (especially in nails or lips)
- Small, constricted "pinpoint pupils" that don't react to light

We have been notified of a spike in suspected overdose deaths over the past 3 weeks in our community.

First responders, healthcare providers, and people who use drugs and their families should be aware of the increased risk of overdose. If you use drugs or know someone who does:

▪ Know the signs of an overdose: Pale, sweaty or clammy skin, lips/fingertips turn blue, slow or irregular breathing: gasping, gurgling, or snoring, difficult or unable to wake
▪ Carry Narcan
▪ Never use alone. You can call: Never Use Alone - 1-877-696-1996 or Safe Spot - 1-800-972-0590
▪ Only use pills provided with a prescription, counterfeit pills may contain dangerous drugs.
▪ Use slower and use less.

Narcan, Lifepoint Syringe Service, and test strips for Fentanyl are free of charge at the Winnebago County Public Health Department’s Oshkosh Location (112 Otter Avenue, Second floor), Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The more alcohol advertising teens see, the more likely they are to start drinking or to binge drink.

🚙Turn around, don't drown. Do not drive through water covered roads.
🍂Clear your storm drains and ditches.
🏡If your home is prone to water intrusion or dampness:
⛈Check your sump pumps and have them up off the floor.
⚙️Run a or fan dehumidifier to prevent mold growth.
🫗If you own a well and it floods do not drink the water until a test confirms it's safe.
🪪And finally, run a quick inventory on your emergency kit. Don't forget to include important documents like ID's, passports, insurance documents, medical cards etc.

Rainfall amounts across portions of central and east-central Wisconsin have increased with the latest forecast this morning. Also, a Flood Watch is in effect from 7 PM today to 7 AM Tuesday for locations along and south of Highway 29. The heavy rain could lead to localized flash flooding, urban street flooding and ponding of water on area roads. Rivers, creeks and ditches will be on the rise through the middle of the week.

You may want to check your fridge, Boar’s Head is recalling 200,000 pounds of lunch meat linked to a listeria outbreak.
🔴 9 different products are impacted, including various types of bologna, ham, salami, and liverwurst.
🔴 34 people in 13 states have gotten sick, including one person in WI.
🔴 The CDC says it can take 3-4 weeks for someone who gets sick to be linked to an outbreak.

When you're strolling the fair without a care, it's important to wash your hands after hanging out with all the awesome animals.

🐑 Even animals that look clean and healthy can carry germs.

There are many illnesses spread by mosquitoes in Wisconsin. Not all mosquitoes spread illnesses, and you won't get sick from every mosquito bite, but it is important to make sure you are aware of mosquitoes, the illnesses they can spread, and how to prevent bites in the first place.
