On February 1st 2024, Imbolc (a Celtic time honoring the space between….. between winter and spring, a time of going home, a time when the seeds begin stir in the earth…. A space between death and rebirth, under the waning moon.

My Father went home.

Reading through many of the comments on the posts made by my sister or message sent to me directly has been comforting and has shown me the depths of what I’ve know about my father and his impact in this world.

A life well lived surpassing the mundane ripple of time. Your presence was not just felt but gifted to so many in so many ways.

You taught life lessons and shared gems with countless young athletes. Instilling what hard work, dedication, sportsmanship, competition, perseverance, team work and other foundational skills that were taken off the court or out of conversation an applied into the lives of the beings who had the opportunity to be around you.

You taught me the importance of living in the full spectrum of life which gave me the capacity to find and dance and experience all the gifts of the in between.

Thank you for being and bringing so much magic, adventure and wonder.

For being the change in so many ways.

For showing how to hold a line and in certain ways be the line.

Not all the lessons were easy or simple

…one day at a time, one thing at a time….

discerning that which I can change from that which is not mine to change. Accepting, Surrendering, and Activating accordingly. Allowing Love to be patient and kind as this process unwinds and changes the landscape.

In truth some of you played, some coached, others played in the volleyball program when that existed, and then the parents ❤️. In short the gym needs help. We working on brining the program back to what to what it was and really forward into all that it can be.

We have a great group of young athletes and a supportive group of Coaches.

The program jumped from 40 athletes last year to 140 this year.

The scoreboard is on its last legs and was new when I was playing 😉 which will likely be true for the bulk of people I tag in this post.

This is a long standing client and over the years we’ve developed a pre-session intake and request style. Today collaborative efforts….

A session to decompress, support the nervous system energetically and with certain hands on techniques. She requested piano background and an aromatherapy blend (in the bowl). Focus is neck, shoulders, scapular area, & thoracic spine.

Crystals will stay gridded under the table and will be used in conjunction with the tuning forks as needed in areas that need a little extra.

I love co-created sessions that leave room to be creative and curious/inquisitive in approach.

Hybrid sets really and truly do steal my heart each time! 😍❤️‍🔥✨

Why do I love hybrids so much do you ask?! Lol
Well not only are all sets tailored to each clients eye shape, lash density and their desire. They’re also just the perfect combination of both Classic and Volume fans!
Let’s take this lovely client as an example.
Her lashes were extremely hard to isolate 🥵. They were curly➰, overlapping 🤞and she had multiple layers with multiple lengths (naturally). After doing our consulting and collaborating, going over home care and creating a map best suited for her eyes. I have to say it came out stunning on her!

Why this map?
In the consultation she desperately wanted a natural hybrid set with a cat eye effect. As you can see her eyes have a slight downward turn with a slight hood. She had plenty of space between the brow bone and lashes to add length but again she wanted NATURAL and NOT length. Starting with a gradual transition from the inner corner 9-12mm. We hit our POE which is always off centered for a cat eye and for this set our POE is 13mm. We the jump to 11’s to taper and sn**ch up those lashes on the outer corner to compliment and sn**ch VS elongating the eye. No client and no lash line is ever the same. This is why it is imperative to have an initial consultation with your client! You’ll be able to set clear communication, collaboration and education. By setting realistic expectation and lash goals.

So far in my career as a lash artist I love the consistent challenge. Having to be creative, strategic with my placement and the instant gratification. It has been so rewarding and probably one of the most humbling careers I’ve had thus far.

Some back story: Hank Bedingfield was and remains a very special part of my heart as does the entire Beddingfield Slipp family. In my earlier life I was the “nanny” for Henry, his twin brother and older sister. I spent 10 years caring for, supporting, and watching the grow into amazing young adults.

Hank was passionate about the people and things he loved in life and was truly “an old soul”. Witty and funny and loved music, sports and the outdoors.

Tragically last year Henry hit a rough place that he couldn’t move beyond and took his life. This news was a devastation I had never felt to that depth before.

His College Rugby team has put together an endowment fund to honor the legacy of who is was and the positive impact he had on those around him.
