Our Kansas City teams recently celebrated a successful fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City's Summer Bowl For Kids' Sake. Our teams raised nearly $10,000 that will go to support the great work Big Brothers Big Sisters does to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

Congratulations to our participants on an incredible job done, and thank you for all you've done to support young people in our community with your Caring Hearts!

Our Kansas City interns recently attended the KC Global Design: Share the Love Design & Construction Intern Event. During the event, they listened to a panel of industry leaders and recent graduates who shared insights on why they chose to establish their careers in architecture, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) in Kansas City. The panel also highlighted what sets the Kansas City market apart from others.

Last week, our Kansas City teams came together to celebrate our new CEO, Jason Evelyn. The event featured networking, food trucks, and drinks. We had a blast welcoming Jason to his new role!

During the 2021 holiday season, MMC Contractors' Eric Haapaoja and his family encountered medical hardships. Amidst these trials, Eric found solace in running, which inspired him to create Hyendure Running—a platform that merges his passion for running with charitable endeavors. Through Hyendure, Eric raises funds for various organizations, motivated by the support his family received.

It's officially our favorite time of year — Summer Intern Season! We recently welcomed nearly 50 new team members from our office and MW Builders, MMC Contractors, and Building Control Services Inc. for a two-day new intern orientation. This program is designed to introduce our interns to our company's mission and culture before they embark on their summer adventures in the construction industry.

Members of our team recently visited PawsAbilties where they helped make dog treats, sniff mats, and tug toys. We had a blast supporting Inclusion Connections' mission to empower individuals with special needs to work and live independently in their community by providing employment training!

More than 20 new employees from our brands' offices recently gathered for a day full of learning about our company and culture at Foundations, our new employee orientation. Topics from the day included the organization's history and the vision of our company leadership, and of course, the ESOP.

In alignment with this year's Construction Safety Week theme, Value Every Voice, we're committed to ensuring every voice within our organization feels acknowledged, valued, and supported!

Emerging Leaders from both MW Builders and MMC Contractors gathered in Kansas City recently for joint learning sessions. Having the opportunity to train and learn together gives this group a broader understanding of what our organization does and allows them to support one another.

Last evening, members of our team from across the country gathered to celebrate the retirement of our former CEO, Tim Chadwick. We had a blast sharing stories and reminiscing on the remarkable journey spanning his 30-year tenure.

May is Mental Health Month, and at MMC Corp, we're always striving to create safer jobsites and a more supportive environment for our employees.

Our new Health Under the Hat initiative is designed to bring awareness to the fact that our mental health is health, too, and it deserves as much care and attention as our physical well-being both on and off the jobsite and in and out of the office.
