Happy Friday! Today seems like a perfect time to re-introduce myself! ☺️

Here are 5 random things about Helen…

- I grew up on the coast of Maine (I could see the ocean in the distance, from my bedroom window) but Kansas City has held my heart for a long time now. In January it will mark 20 years since my husband and I moved here (by way of the Detroit area) and 17 of those have been spent in Grandview, which we have absolutely loved!

- Speaking of Grandview, in April I was elected to their Board of Education and promptly voted in as Vice President of the Board. I’m fiercely passionate about that volunteer role!

- I enjoy giving back with my photography skills when and where I can… often that means my monthly NICU visits, but it also can happen at my church and in my community (the second photo here is from yesterday morning, when I was a guest speaker in a high school photography class - I had just turned the kids loose to practice concepts I had taught them).

- People often ask me what my favorite type of session is, and while I definitely used to have a favorite type, I’ve grown to love all of them equally. I know it sounds like a kids book (because it is 😅), but You’re All My Favorites!

- I’m happiest, but also the most stressed out, at the ballpark. Whether watching the Royals, my three boys (triplets, age 17), or my daughter (14 in January), watching baseball & softball is my fave!

I love mixing the creative and non-traditional into a family session! Sometimes these end up large on a wall, sometimes they end up in an album, and sometimes they end up small on a shelf.... and any of those are just fine by me! Most important to me? That you love and enjoy your portraits!

There are enough holes in the schedule today that I am taking WALK INS, for these super fun, micro fundraising sessions celebrating the Royals trip to the Postseason!

Come on by anytime before 5pm for 5 minutes of fun! Families, kids, couples, singles… you’re all welcome. (No pets for this one, please.)
Set is best for groups of 5 or less, but we’ll figure it out for a bigger group.
