We are focusing on skin health during these summer months! As amazing as it is to have fun in the sun, it can be VERY damaging to our skin. We have to protect, moisturize, repair, and exfoliate during these summer months. This requires hats, sunglasses, skin care products, exercise, nutrition, and assuring you are taking in the right about of electrolytes and nutrients daily. ☀🙌🤓

This time of year is exciting with many students going through transitions from high school to college, college to graduate school, and those starting their first job to start their careers.

Here is something Dr Ahmed learned from Jim Rohn while he was a young attending physician and wished he had been given this lesson sooner.

Whatever you want to achieve in your life or career, aim high. Have ridiculous goals. Whether it is to become the "best (fill in)" or some financial milestone like become a millionaire - Don't get excited about achieving the goal, appreciate the person you will become on that journey to achieve your goal.

The skills you will have to learn, the experiences you will have, the people you will meet, the things you will have to do or sacrifice - that is the real treasure. When you take on this mindset, if life happens and you don't achieve that goal you had set, I assure you that the things you have learned on the way is more valuable which will lead to the achievement of an even greater goal!

Be limitless. Be free. This life is limited and quick. Ask yourself, "why not?"

Trying to lose body fat? Remember, it is not body weight we are trying to improve. It is BODY COMPOSITION. Your body weight might be "stagnant" as you add muscle and reduce fat. This is GOOD! If you are trying to trim the waistline and reduce body fat, then the key is low to moderate intensity workouts. High intensity workouts for a prolonged amount of time will actually prevent fat loss and instead the body will go after protein sources and glucose. Fat is a massive storage warehouse for energy. The biochemistry of fat breakdown is optimal at low to moderate intensity workouts.

Here are the top three fish to eat and other ways to increase HDL without prescription medications:

Exercise Regularly:
Aerobic exercises like walking, running, cycling, and swimming can significantly increase HDL cholesterol.
Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise per week or 75 minutes of vigorous exercise.

Our experience in the hospital setting gives us a certain confidence, skill, and attitude when it comes to our primary care service. Combine that with 24/7 access and a simple office experience - it's a tremendous value for our patients.

Picture: These 2 patients were on breathing machines with drains coming out of their body while they battled to live. We took care of them for several weeks in the hospital and how wonderful is it to give them a hug while we stand for a picture several months later. This is our why. We are here to serve. 3 Strategies to Lose Weight - MAKE IT SIMPLE! 01/08/2024

Weight loss is complex. And everyone is unique in how they process nutrients and burn calories.
✅EAT! Be consistent with a balanced diet. Food has incredible power to heal!
✅BURN! Goal is to exercise 150-300 minutes moderate intensity as a bare minimum within your target heart rate
✅REST! Sleep. Give sleep priority. This is when your body heals and strengthens. There is no sense in eating right, exercising, and not allowing the body to heal and repair. Won't work.
