NATIONAL LEAP DAY!
For a day that is celebrated only once every 4 years (with some mathematical exceptions we'll go over later) it sure seems to have a lot going on around it.
Leap year has devious explorers, beloved saints, partying boarder towns and proposal popping Irish ladies. And let's not forget all the birthdays babies. They do have some making up to do on the celebrating, you know!
Since the beginning of time, man has been improving the way we keep it. That applies to calendars as well. Early Egyptians had a leap year in their calendar. The early Roman calendar had entire leap month from time to time to keep the days in line with the astronomical year.

NATIONAL FLORAL DESIGN DAY!
National Floral Design Day on February 28th recognizes the art and history of floral design. For thousands of years, floral design has been an important cultural art form. This is the day we celebrate that art form. It may be in a bouquet, painting, in textiles, a garden or a floral arrangement.

NATIONAL STRAWBERRY DAY! 🍓🍓
We continue with February's heart-shaped and red theme by observing National Strawberry Day on February 27th. These juicy, sweet berries can brighten up any dish and are delicious all on their own.

NATIONAL SET A GOOD EXAMPLE DAY!
When we observe kindness in others, we are often inspired to offer kindness ourselves. Someone set a good example for us to follow, and we must continue those good examples for others in our lives. National Set A Good Example Day on February 26th encourages us to set a good example that inspires others.

It would be ideal if everyone lived their lives doing kind things on a daily basis and without thinking about it. We all get caught up in our fast-paced lifestyles. However, kindness should never be sacrificed to get ahead in the world. Kindness doesn't require grand gestures. Though, when able, those are acceptable, too.
In a matter of seconds, we hold the power to change the course of a person's day by being nice. The person's day in question might even be our own. Some things that take very little time at all and almost no effort include:
• Noticing someone's signal in traffic and allowing them into your lane.
• Picking up the neighbor's newspaper on your daily walk and placing it within easy reach.
• Opening a door for another person.
• Giving your place in line to the person with only three items.
• Tipping your service staff an extra dollar or two more than you usually would.
• Give a compliment.
• Encourage a student with an idea for a solution.
• Read to a child.
• Listen to someone who is lonely.

Get one, two or three on National Taco Day. On October 4th, the day recognizes the savory tortilla stuffed with fillings. It doesn't have to be Tuesday, so get out and enjoy your favorite.

Set the table. Mix up the batter. Heat up the griddle. Because the butter is ready to melt and the flapjacks are delicious!

Also known as Johnnycakes, griddle cakes or hotcakes, this batter-made breakfast item dates back more than 30,000 years. In fact, it may be the oldest breakfast food in history.

Make some punch and make a toast! Thousands of punch recipes make the beverage versatile and easy to make. Check recipe books and online. Be sure to share your favorites, too! Use to post on social media.
