A UTI, or urinary tract infection, is an infection that affects any part of the urinary system, including the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra. So, just what is Athlete’s Foot? Athlete's foot, or tinea pedis, is a fungal infection primarily caused by dermatophyte fungi. These fungi thrive in warm, moist environments, such as locker rooms, showers, and swimming pools, where they can be easily transmitted from person to person or from contaminated surfaces. Athlete's foot symptoms include persistent itching, redness, scaling, and blistering between the toes or on the soles of the feet. Over-the-counter treatments can be effective for mild cases, while more severe infections may require prescription-strength medications. Pro Tip for exposure: Wash the affected area thoroughly with soap and water as soon as possible after exposure to remove any remaining plant oils that can cause a reaction. Oh yeah, and the hardest part of all - don’t scratch - that just makes the oils spread!
