The American Cancer Society recommends that everyone 45+ years old get screened for colorectal cancer. In 2021, the recommended age was lowered from 50 to 45 due to an increase in colorectal cancer cases among young and middle-aged people. The Affordable Care Act requires health plans to cover colorectal cancer screening tests, although you still may be charged for some services pertaining to your screening. Before getting screened, we encourage you to review your health insurance plan regarding any in-network and out-of-network costs and call your insurer if you have any questions. #weareonegi #coloncancerawareness #getscreened
