The Central Programs Team (CP) – REPS (placement), Recruitment/Retention and RFA (Resource Family Approval), held their first in-person meeting at the new office in the Collections! Arturo Vargas, Program Manager of CP, said “it was great to see the team all together again”. The team celebrated accomplishments and looking forward to continued success.

Strengthening VC Families Retention Community Service Coordinators hosted the first quarterly HUB forum. HUBs are held at East and West County locations. Resource Families come together to meet other families, talk and share ideas. HUBs offer a training piece, and resource families receive 2-hours training credit towards their annual requirement. The topic at the HUB was QPI & co-parenting. Thank you to the Kids and Family panel of a birth mom and relative caregiver who graciously shared their QPI experience, and answered questions. Save the date for the next HUB, East County Sept. 11, and West County Sept. 12. Training topic will be LIFE BOOKS! Resource families will receive a Life Book & Art Supplies for each child/youth in their care. Thank you to all that attended and made the first HUB a wonderful, meaningful time. Core Environmental Solutions hosted a fundraising event at Enegren Brewing Company in Moorpark for Strengthening VC Families Teens in-out-of-home care. A special shout out to Gary from www.RestorationMasters.com for the school supplies and Jansport backpacks. Our community partner Assistance League , supported the event along with Ventura County Fire Dept. . A perfect example of the business community coming together to help make a difference and strengthen VC families. Great location, raffle, food and friends. Congratulations to the Strengthening VC Families Golf Team, Yvette Anderson, Simon Lozano, Arturo Vargas & Thomas Crowley, who took 2nd place at the Teen Reach Adventure Camp Fundraiser. Thank you to River Ridge Golf Club for hosting the event and the T.R.A.C. team for sending our teens-in-care (ages 12-15) to summer camp ’24 for FREE!

A Life Book is like a scrapbook. It provides a visual and written record of a child’s life. This allow a child to connect to their past, present, and future.
